Romeo Alpha Yankee
Just 2 in fact! So continuing on with the airliner SOD* clearance here are my next projects. Both are Minicraft kits, maligned by some, I have built a couple and find them OK. First is Singapore Airlines jet which made it tot eh decaling stage when the decal setting solution discoloured the gold in the cheatline. Here is is before my blunder After sanding most of the decal away and after repainting the fuselage Second is a BA jet, G-YMMM, the one that had a fuel starvation problem on approach to Heathrow and landed short of the runway. It's at the priming stage at the moment. I'll be using Xtradecal sheet for this one. * Shelf of Doom (or should I say Tub of Doom)
stevehnz
Even in 1/144 they're a big brute, I've a Zvezda -300 that'll likely become an Air NZ -200, much as I'd like to also do a Cathay -300 that I flew on, two might pose storage problems so I'm full of admiration for what you're doing here. Romeo Alpha Yankee
Work recommenced on the BA jet starting with the obligatory reshaping of the flap track fairings. the onboard one has been done in this shot, you will see that the centre and outboard fairings have a squarish cross section After another half hour or so the rest here also done I also reattached the nose gear leg on the SIA jet and replaced a missing antenna that went astray in the move to Adelaide.

Romeo Alpha Yankee
So I thought I had this one finished until I put my fat thumb on the cheat line that had not stuck to the fuselage. So I need to use another sheet I have to replace the destroyed cheat line, this is the start of the restoration The other side looks OK 6
Romeo Alpha Yankee
I am having no joy finishing this one off, cheat line stuffed again and I'm in the throws of a second attempt replacing it 1

Romeo Alpha Yankee
I am calling the Singapore Airlines B777-212ER finished, the decal setting solution ended up tarnishing the gold portions on this set of decals as well, so I will have to live with it. I thought a softer solution would be ok, not the case. Some more images in the gallery
Romeo Alpha Yankee
And on to the BA jet, some masking and painting commenced...
Snafu35
Hello Ray, I love your air fleet, it must be huge! Which international airport are you planning to replicate? I don't see any apparent damage to the B777-212ER you show in the photos. You have arranged this very neatly. Well done! Regards, Eric-Snafu35

Back in the Saddle
Completely missed these two Ray... They are looking very sharp and you've chosen two great liveries. I must try building a 777 at some point - I don't have any yet in my collection!
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Thanks Martin and Matt, just getting back to the BA bird, wings are on and I am repainting parts of the lower blue as there were a couple of places where the demarcation line has not the straightest. Romeo Alpha Yankee
So I was about to start decaling and realised that I had not added the corogard sections to the lower wing Ah, that's better, I used Xtracolor Corogard for anyone interested
