J-W - I think that's really good, I don't think it's overdone

Any slightly hard divides left perhaps you could put one drop of ipa on and smear? Assuming you're using acrylics...

Those two have come out looking great mate - I like the formation marking on the latest one, makes it more interesting, and with that red serial letter as well !

Nice ... very nice

On their 1/72 Xtradecal German Battle of Britain set, Hannants have included formation stripes in pink with a note that there is some debate over the colours - pity they did not also provide white ones though they are easy enough to make.

Thanks,

Today I made some more efforts using both colors and sanding (600 grid). Then in a moment I decided that it is done, added coat of gloss varnish and applied decals. I also masked canopy and painted it with brown (the first was dark gray, but only with partial masking which I removed. The Techmod decals for fuselage  appeared to be ultra thin (basically only white frames on colorless fils) and I spoiled first attempt. Lucky (by mistake) I have bought this decal set twice. In a second attempt I painted the decal with some clear acrylic varnish (Tamiya) and when dried then started to apply. It helped but still it was very soft and delicate...  Anyway, finally it is done.

Here is A4 for the end of the day

The canopy needs small corrections and adding both rear guns and - OOPS! - the tail wheels is broken!  So I am ending writing and hope the carpet monster did not eaten it! ;)

As for me now - it is finished. But I will have a look at it with cold eye after some hours to see if any correction needed. Tomorrow I hope to go to the Gallery!

Massive result! I can see you're coming from the country of Lukas Fabianski ⚒️

Seriously, I have been thinking that a desert/night Ju 88 missing from my cabinet is a serious loss. Thanks for proving it right, I must build one too 🙂

Hi Jerzy-Wojtek,

Nice to watch this impressive quintet build reaching the finish line (pun intended).

Your bench build line is already a GB too, within the Ju 88 STGB... 😉

Also very interesting how you did spread the variants/schemes/theaters.

Congrats!

Thank you!  I am following the build of Junkers family - just started Ju 388 by Special Hobby and thinking also on  Ju 188 from Italeri!

Here is start for 388:

Pat, thank you very much. My side kick to GB means that our Savoia 74 project must be a little postpone... But I am still willing to make long (maybe two years lasting) series of Italians, I have now in stash a heavy set of unique Italians (including resins and vacus!). There are sea machines GB where I have to decide on two French hydroplanes by Latecore, STGB on FW 190 and I have also two (A2 and F8) in stash, both alredy with chosen schemes and Big Japan when I am considering Mavis... I am not what I will have time now for ....

Two takes of all five together

I particularly like that last one, those blotches look really great

I still can't believe the logistics of five models on the go. Well done!!

Although the GB is over I do the follow-up or a life after life small addendum to five 88s - the remaining two from my stash, namely Ju 188  (Italeri) and Ju 388 (Special Hobby)

There is a huge and not correct difference in wheel bay between them

52716378073_b4e6ae0cf6_o.jpg

So I had to enlarge the one by Italeri.

Mayvbe it is not well seen here but I made it wider by 2 mm

The Italeri 188 has no fans in BMW engines and gas too large spinners, so I did it the same way as I did with 88 S1.  I rescribed the whole surface as well.

Ju 388 had yellowish canopies so I wrote to Special Hobby and they offer a new one for 4 euro + 10 euro PP. Not cheep but I was grateful for possibility, after a few days I've got it (in this price as bonus I've got 3 canopies sheet - it is vacu.

Here is current state
