nimrod54
A pretty quiet year build wise with most of them being completed for various group builds throughout 2022. The first two were for the Matchbox 50th Anniversary GB and the first one completed was this Jaguar SS/100. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr Followed by this Douglas F3D-2 Skyknight. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr The next group build on the list was the Bomber, Strike and Ground Attack GB, my entry was Academy's Cessna Dragonfly - brush painted with Ammo by Mig acrylics. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr A pair of F-18 Hornets followed for that STGB, an out of box Academy kit finished in Blue Angels colours and the second one was finished in a Golden Dragons CAG scheme using Aeromaster decals and a Hasegawa kit by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr A bit of a light hearted build followed with a kit supplied by my modelling buddy @Hockeyboy76 for the May Bank Holiday Blitzbuild. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr The Big and British group build was next and my chosen subject was this BOAC Vickers Super VC10, I had trouble fitting this into my photo box. Since donated to a fellow aircraft nut who worked for BOAC at Heathrow and now sits in his cabinet of memorabilia. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr This final series of builds were all for the Century Fighters GB, six of them in 1/144th scale and a 1/72 F-100F Super Sabre. First, a pair of 1/144 F-105's (another donated kit from Hockeyboy76) by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr and then a series of 1/144 F-104 Starfighters - 2 European and 2 Japanese versions. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr There are still a couple of builds running as can be seen in my signature, but this Danish Super Sabre wraps things up for this year. I had a go at a bit of weathering on this build (something I am not confident about) and whilst some may think that the heat staining is a bit overdone, I based it on this photo and I think that it worked out OK. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr Back with more in 2023. Thanks a lot Steve, my plane spotting buddy was really pleased with his SVC-10, and I enjoyed the challenge of replicating the heat staining. 1
tonyh
Really impressed by the way you’ve replicated the staining on the F-100. Tony
Cookenbacher
Some lovely builds there John, you always produce such great schemes - but the heated metal effect on the F-100 may take the cake!
