corsaircorp
Hello Gents, Last RFI for 2022.... Sallee should have been a fair lady, but Short fused ?? Perhaps @CedB can explain that term ??? Where's he when we need him ?? Soooo, Let's go to Orconte, France... In september 1944 Allied forces are pushing forward on all fronts.... First a pic of the real thing ?? Flown by Major Richard E. Turner... The tally board shows 3 locomotives and a buzz bomb.... And an heavy weathered pony.... I always wanted an early Mustang D in my collection, That's done now a D-5.... Yes, I know, the real aeroplane have tiny swastika instead of black crosses.... But the regulations are what they are and I did'nt find it... The Eduard decals were not convincing at all.... Now I should have printed my own decals, or completing the Eduard ones... But.... Paints are Alclad, I used what's left in 2 jars, so I knew from the start that touching up the paint later would have been impossible... Dicey game is'nt it ?? The weather will not allow me to have outside pics... I also wanted to represent a Mustang hydraulic particularity... That's why the clamshell doors are glued that way.... Then, I also lost the landing light... Choose your prefered version... I'm just glad of the result here.... Weathering has been made with Flory, Lifecolor filters and oil paints On for some family pics ?? CC 41
corsaircorp
Well, here we go... The WiP is here, The title say 8 but, it has turned 10 now.... Family pic I say ?? Same era, same front, such an encounter should have been possible... A thoroughbreed meeting now ?? This one is for @Winded Penguin.... It is up to you Gents !! Comments are welcome, banters are mandatory.... The next one will bring us in Korea or in Italy.... Who knows ?? Have a great modelling time Gents !! And an happy New Year 2023, may this year give you all that you want or need or desire or.... Sincerely. CC 22

Farmerboy
Super Mustang, how did you find the Eduard build, l have built quite a few Mustang’s and found them a little fiddly and ‘over engineered’ compared to Tamiya and Airfix. Marvellous collection, looking forward to the next instalment!
georgeusa
Wonderful Mustang and great combination of paints used for the finish. Brave aren't you with a certain mix without the hope of more for touch ups. I take my hat off to you. "Short fused" is a term to mean whichever emotions you are referring to go from zero to one hundred in an instant, be it anger, sadness, happiness, you get the gist. Normally it is associated with a hot temper or very passionate person. Like "It doesn't take much to set off Sally's temper 'cause she has such a short fuse." (A true saying about my ex-wife named Sally). Hope this helps with the logo Short Fused Sally. Thanks for sharing. 1

Marvellous collection, looking forward to the next instalment! I thank you for the kind words FB Honestly, you're right about over engineered But I rate the Eduard Pony as the best one on the market Tamiya is quite good and so is its clone ICM, but details are for more precise on the Eduard one Now another point for Eduard is the numerous optional parts... They found their way in my Tamiya and ICM kits... The Airfix one is about finished and it's a good kit too... On my WiP I did 2 of each... Just have a look at the thread for comparisons.... 4 hours ago, georgeusa said: Wonderful Mustang and great combination of paints used for the finish. Really... The term comes from the use of demolitions. Light a short fuse and then "run like all git out before it blows". For your delicate explanation for the name, the term would be appropriate.

David H
I read that Richard Turner's Girlfriend at the time, Sallee, had anger management issues and a short temper. After a trip stateside to visit with her, i guess they broke up and his new plane was named "Short Fuse". -d-

DennisTheBear
Now that you've done Richard Turner's P-51D you almost have to do his B model with the same markings. Lovely work, I've read Richard Turner's book and have the markings for his B and D models to be done......ahhhh....in the future.
