Oh crikey, more stencils!!!

It's gonna look great when all complete.

Chris

There's not too many to do as most of them were painted over.

I'm fairly happy with the look so far.

Cheers,

Alistair

Alistair,

Looking lovely under a gloss coat, and the modest number of stencils must be a great relief!

Thanks Roger,

There are only a few and that is a huge relief but the thought of the sides of the Phantom is haunting me.

I should get the oomph up to do it today but you never know.

I placed a few stencils about the place.

More than would have been on the real thing but they just break things up and add a bit of interest.

That lot will be hit with softener. (Tamiya Decals :fight:) and I'll make a start on the nozzles, pylons and drop tanks.

Thanks for looking,

Looking good Alistair,  not too far to go on this one now.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

Not too far now.

I was hoping to get the pylons, tanks and Sidewinders started today but the pylons all have ejection pin marks that need sorting.

So, I'm awaiting Mr. Surfacer drying.

Cheers,

Alistair

The Drop Tanks and Pylons were painted and stickered.

The cold nozzles got a coat of Medium Sea Grey.

GcDXbUo.jpg

And the hot nozzles were given a coat of gloss black in prep for metallics in a couple of days when it's gassed off properly.

I'll get some white on the undercarriage doors and air brake actuator later and can get them decalled after that.

The Sidewinders have been given a lick of Light Aircraft Grey. Tomorrow I'll mask them off, paint the seeker head, yellow and brown bands.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Ooooooo nice progress Alistair,  looking good fella, I am going to try and get some modelling done tonight hopefully,  just got in from Daughter's school option evening and spent the last three days changing suspension on my Son's car as was too low, that was a pain to do, but will finish in the morning and get it back out on the road, been too knackered to do any modelling 🙄

Great job on the Shar

Thanks Chris,

There may be another update tonight as I've been sitting here gluing bits and pieces whilst watching the latest episode of Ted Lasso

I hope you get a chance to get a rest.

We could do with a little more Badge magic hereabouts.

Not much got done today.

Life stuff got in the way, as it does.

The Harrier was given a protective clear coat in preparation for some oil work tomorrow.

I finished painting the nose wheel doors and got the decals on those and the main gear doors.

I also did a little work on the Sidewinders.

Thanks Roger,

I wasn't going to do the small paint bits on the fins but looking at them I decided to get on with them this morning.

Sidewinders finished.

vZ4Wt7e.jpg

After some oil filter work with White, Paynes Grey, Blue to give a bit of variation and light blue grey oil wash on the Control Surfaces

I fitted the Doors, Air Brake, Drop Tanks and Sidewinders.

I also gave the undercarriage a light wash with Seraphim Sepia and Nuln Oil.

Some Molotov Chrome on the lights which will get some clear colours when the final Satin coat is on.

I moulded a tiny bit of Green stuff for the red nose wheel light and painted that.

It's also waiting a clear red.

Still to do.

Finish the Hot Nozzles

A final satin coat.

Unmask the canopy and fit the PE windscreen wiper.

Not much left now.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair
