Yep, that wind has got a chill to it, even down south mate.

Once you get the lie detector on i.e. primer it will show any faults as always.

Try and keep warm mate.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

We'll see what a squirt of paint shows up tomorrow.

We have very clear skies tonight and I expect I will need to give the car a good scraping tomorrow.

Cheers,

Alistair

Nice work Alistair,  yes it certainly is a bit nippy out this evening, lovely clear sky though.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

If it warms up a tad tomorrow there might be some progress.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

After a spray of Gloss white in the intakes I got busy with the glue.

Now the real work begins.

I'll do the seam work first then "fit" the engine hatch as this will be a work on it's own based on the dry fits done.

It's going to need some shims.

Thanks for looking,

And a rather quick update.

I put 2 shims in for the engine hatch just to see how much work and fettling would be required.

And as you can see I got lucky again.

Levelled up nicely there will be filler and blending work necessary but I'm much more confident seeing this.

Thanks for looking,

Nice bit of work there Alistair.

Sometimes we have to g with our instincts.

Stay safe.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

It all may slow down a fair bit as I'm back at work tomorrow and managed to go slightly too far with the chopping knife when cooking tonight's dinner.

I sliced into my thumb cubing the potatoes and then not being as careful as I should have been sliced through a fingernail when doing the onions.

Feeling rather foolish at the moment and losing the immediate use of my  thumb and index finger on the same hand is a little limiting.

The amount of times I've done this while cooking, you would think I would have learned to be careful.

Alistair

Chris

Thanks Chris,

It's nothing that a day or two won't solve.

My stupidity, well, that my take a little longer.

I have been following this despite the lack of comments, my machine’s been sulking.

I made one of these when the kit was first released back in the ‘80s and I thought it was the bees knees, after all it was Tamiya  so it had to be good.

Hope the digits are recovering well.

Thanks John,

It's going together better than I expected for a kit of it's age

The fingers will be fine.

It's my pride that hurting more. :D

Alistair

I found you!  Have you ever had an active thread back on page 5 before?  Sorry to read about the slip o’ the knife, hope you’re well on the mend - did you get so used to cleaning up seams that you thought you’d throw a couple onto your fingers to practice there, too?

Regardless, the Harrier is definitely succumbing to your will, looking very much the part now.

Thanks Mark,

It's taking a bit of time between updates as the is a lot of fill, sand and repeat going on.

On the plus side I'm getting close to getting all the seams sorted then I can start on the engine hatch.

I tested the seams with some paint this morning and as all looked good the engine hatch was fitted and some PPP spread around.

Then , it seems I got a bit carried away and well.

She seems to be looking a little more Harrier like now.

There has been more sanding and filling going on.

I managed to crack the nose seam, got that sorted and decided to give everything a shot of primer.

The engine hatch still needs some work and Mr. Dissolved Putty has been applied but otherwise it all looks good.
