Nice work Alistair , glad you got the opportunity to get into the Garage to get some paint on .  Hope you had a great day today.  Have you had a good look around your pressie yet???

Merry Christmas to you and yours fella

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I had a great day and I hope you did as well.

I gave the wings a rather good fondle earlier but will have a good look tomorrow.

As long as I remember plenty of kitchen roll to wipe up the drool I'll be good.

I also had a right look at the bits from the Revell 1/32 Hurricane.

It has various bit for a Sea Hurricane, the arrestor hook and underside bit to fit it are there.

I just don't know if the catapult spools and gun camera are also there.

If they are then I may be tempted to go down that road.

Have you had a good look at your big spitfire yet as i would value your opinion.

Cheers,

Alistair

Good start Alistair, like the athlete warming up for the big race…

Thanks Mark,

I've not seen too many athletes with my physique apart from Dart Players if you can call them athletes. :D

Things are kind of going to plan so far.

And I just had to say it didn't I.

Cheers,

Alistair

Very interested in this, will be good to see a silk purse emerge from a sow’s ear! That aftermarket will make a big difference I’m sure.

Are the panel lines raised or engraved?

I am glad you had a great day, crikey it was a great day if you got both the Spit and the Hurri. I had heard that the Sea Hurricane bits are present.  Looking forward to seeing that one start.  I have only had a quick look at the Spitfire and it looks gorgeous,  with the surface details oil canning effects etc . I have ordered a pack of Quinta Studios Rivet decals and will fill the rivets on the rear half of the fuselage and re do with the rivet decals as they are proud domed rivets from the cockpit aft.  I did the same on my Hobbyboss 32nd Spitfire using HGW rivets

Otherwise I have yet to have a good look.

No plastic for me under the tree this year, I did get some books I have wanted though and some comfy slippers so really pleased😄

Thanks very much,

I think the AM will help. The Flightpath set is very comprehensive.

The panel lines are raised and I'm just going with that. My rescribing skills are non-existent.

Alistair,

Well you've set yourself a challenge with this one! A Spit and a Hurricane too you lucky man - I was kindly gifted a P61, which is a little outside my normal wheelhouse but an interesting proposition nonetheless! Hope you enjoyed your day,

I certainly have.

Now to get on to more important stuff I'm intrigued and excited to see what you can do with a Black Widow.

Cheers,

Alistair

OOOH, another SHAR !!!

Is there any room left for a CC ???

I don't know about the Tamiya one, but the Kinetic was not an easy one....

Guess how I know it.....

Forget about the rotating pipes...

I tried to put it on AFTER the fuselage was glued on....

In order to spare myself a lot of masking....

Not my best idea ever....

It make my teeth sweating.... And sparked a lot of baaaad baaaad words.....

do not hesitate to go on my WiP for detail pics....

Are you going for Corporate one ??

Sincerely.

CC

Panel lines, 'I'll go with that'! Come o Ali you can do better, you gotta' learn new skills. Use them as a guideline. However, you could sand them off and use a soft pencil post painting to draw back them in.

There's always room for a CC.

I saw the trouble that you had with yours but will be referring to your thread regularly.

I will be doing an 809 Squadron Corporate but on the return home so I can get the Phoenix on the tail.

Nice start Alistair. I hope the sprouts didn’t suffer while you were multitasking?

Craig.

Thanks Craig,

I can categorically state that no vegetables were harmed in the butchering of this kit.

All was overseen by the American Humane Society.

Ok Colin that has given me pause for thought. I may try something.

I'm leaning that way too.

I'll need to make sure the wings are the same type and if I have to make up some catapult spools them I think even my fingers could put that together.

Coming along nicely. I see another quote from Pink Floyd , The Wall, in the title.😉

'Mother do you think they'll  drop the bomb'

In Sharkey's case the answer was no, he'll have the wrong weapon selected and launch a sidewinder instead... 😄

Well dear chap, a Sea Harrier...

And with a title like that, it has got to be a must.

I am in, got to see what you do with all the goodies...

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

Glad to have you aboard.

I'm certainly throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Panel line ascribing isnt as hard as it at first seems. Trick is to take your time, use a pencil etc to mark the lines first, then do one straight line at a time and build up til it's all done.

Old style dynamo label tape makes a good flexible guide and I scribe with a broken razor saw blade (nice consistent fine lines).

Lovely.  Historic jet; classic scheme.  Enjoying it already.

Thanks very much,

I hope that state of affairs continues as I know you are not a fan of long threads. :D:whistle:

Thanks for the advice,

I have tried this in the past but arthritic spasms usually cause my hand to twitch in the wrong direction at just the wrong time.

Usually means more clean up the scribing.

Doesn't mean I'm not going to try though. :D
