One more tick to my bucketlist !!  (This list seems a bit elastic but whatever..)

This is 1/32 Trumpeter P-47D-1 with the markings of “In the Mood” flown by Captain Gerald W Johnson from 61st Fighter Squadron  56th Fighter Group based in Halesworth England during late 1943.

Cockpit modified by Yahu instrument panel and Eduard seatbelts. Additionnaly Trumpeter’s late style rudder pedals replaced with MDC early ones.

For backdating to D-1, the cowling flaps changed by using plastic card.

I have used Eduard’s Wheel set.

Belly tank is from my Tamiya spare parts.

Paints are Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya acrylics.

Decals are from Zotz Decal set.

Happy modelling

Very nice outcome again 👍

The natural looking tyre 'squidge' is particularly convincing on this one.

I mean unusually so, even for weighted tyres. Is there something extra you did to get that effect?
