Now that the Lotus 72C is almost finished, my dad started the next race car.

the kit decals are crap, they tend to tear apart, no good quality

but my dad somehow managed to apply the instrument decals by securing them with Microscale Liquid Decal Film

gonna buy aftermarket decals for the exterior

don´t know yet which colour to use for the rims, painted silver/aluminium for now

looking at pics and videos of 1966 they look darker and sometimes have a golden touch

The wheels were magnesium, which oxidises to a dark grey colour.   The gold tint would be from a conversion coating such as Dow 7, intended to prevent oxidation, but it wasn't very robust or long lasting.

Impressive. Maybe next is Martini sponsored Porsche 917 for Helmut Marko? Then you have Austrian connection.

Martini scheme means tricky decals 😄

already had some problems with these, applied nicely but then turned out to be very brittle, have to do some touch-ups with white paint

almost finished

rest of the windows, mesh on the rear and front light glasse attached

btw, didn´t install the rear view window, didn´t work out with Micro Klear and plastic or CA glue was too dangerous, didn´t want to damage the windshield

How did you stop bleed through on the decals?

Do you mean slightly shine-through or cracked decals?

Only area with shine-through is the side stripe being slightly visible in the side number decals, but on the lighted pics you don´t see it. Regarding cracks in the decals, did some touch ups with white paint.
