Trumpeter Sea Fury with Xtradecals, painted with Xtracrylix Extra Dark Sea Grey and Sky, finished with Winsor and Newton Satin.

Not a kit I'd do again in a hurry, overpriced and a pig but happy enough with the result

This is my entry for this GB. It is the GWH F-14A Tomcat from VF-41 during Desert Storm, where this aircraft was given some nose art.

The build thread is here:-

Here's my Kaman HOK-1/OH-43D, using the AMP kit in 1/48. Quite a difficult build, partly due to the nature of the beast and partly due to some of the worst instructions ever printed, but I'm glad I did it! Build thread is here

Thanks for looking. And this is an awesome GB - apologies to everyone whose builds I've not followed or commented on, I just can't keep up with it all!

cheers

This is my build of the old Airfix 1/72 Vought Kingfisher. A pretty basic kit so I have done a bit of work on the cockpit and also added some bracing to the main float. I have finished it in the scheme shown in a pic of one involved in the battle of Komandorski Island in 1943 near the close of the often forgotten war in the Aleutian Islands - here is the build thread.

A nice simple build to end my entries in an enjoyable GB.

Hello all, this is my second entry for the Salty Sea Dog Gallery. The venerable Airfix DUKW, in the colours of the Sefton Lifeguards. They had a few different schemes, but I chose this one as the lettering was slightly easier to do! There is some guesswork for the passenger (rescued souls compartment) but I think it is plausible. the build/error thread is here if you want a laugh and some very useful reference material for your own DUKW build:

It was a fun build and was a very nice change from my usual fare. I also hope to amend the home-made windscreen to something more like the original in the future.

Cheers,

Ray

1/72 Arma Hobby Fokker E.V pretty much out of the box, depicting sailor-turned-pilot Oberleutnant-zur-See Gotthard Sachsenberg’s machine as commander of Marine Feld Jagdgruppe 1, late summer 1918.

This specimen - nor others of the type - did not fly many sorties during the Great war, arriving late and being soon recalled to solve structural issues ,and we can thank the existance of this kit to the six machines that entered Polish service in their war against Soviet in 1920.

Hansa-Brandenburg W.29, German maritime patrol-fighter of the Nordensey station, 1918

Kit is the 1/72 Toko/Eastern Express with lozenge decals from Aviattic. The kit seems to represent a prototype, and some chamges were made, described in the Build thread:

Finally got some beauty shots done on my Grumman F3F "Flying Barrel", the Academy issue of the Accurate Miniatures original.

Lovely model to work on and very easy as a biplane .A couple of tricky bits in the construction and whereas AM included lots of explanation and advice in the instructions, Academy have deleted all that text in the interests of international inclusivity and left only the drawings 😶

I resorted to stretchy rigging lines in preference to the brass etch as supplied. Nothing worse than bent or saggy rigging 😅

The big one for me is the rigging up of the aerial lines in even skinnier stretch thread. That's a 1st time for me. The masts on the wings are not the p.e parts - they would hold nothing - I used a couple of small brass nails, the type used in wooden model boat building

The crew figures are extras for some scenic value 😎
