Special Hobby is to re-release in 2023 2024 the MPM 1/48th Heinkel He-177A Greif kit under ref. SH48????

This re-edition will include several new designed parts.

The 1/48 Heinkel He 177A is arguably one of our most asked for models long time out of production. Yes all we might do now is to inject a required number of sprues and restock the model and that would be it. But not, this is not what we aim for. Some of the original moulds have been replaced with new ones which can assure much better quality notable mainly in the smaller parts. The new moulds are 3D machined and the images below show very well the levels of detail this new method brings. This so to speak old-new bird is scheduled for 2023 release.

I built the old release and liked it a lot.  Their improvements to the small parts will make a nice improvement.  One suggestion would to add a sprue to include a Fritz X guided bomb.  Just a thought, anyway, great to see this re-released.

I wonder what are the chances that the new parts might be made available as detail/upgrade sets to people like me who have the older releases of the He 177 in their stashes?

The main issue is about the shape of the fuselage: The extended fuselage of the later (main) versions was accomplished with the cut out of one section and the insert of a new (extending) plug in. This resulted in two very noticeable steps in the profile. Revell depicted this correctly with their 72nd kit. Wonder if this will be addressed.

This would be a very essential modification, missing this detail would make the revised kit more or less useless!🤷🏻
