One of the all time classic DC-8 liveries. Thanks for sharing.

I never flew on one but I have read that if you were seated near the rear of a long DC-8 and the air got rough you could see the fuselage flexing!

Very nice DC-8.

A real classic in a classic livery 👍

 

I had the pleasure to fly on a DC-8-63 some 30 years ago and I remember that flight as absolutely wonderful.A bit noisier than todays airliners but very comfortable

I flew on a -63 as well, and it was a nice ride.  I remember seeing these -71's and -73's lined up at ATL in the 90's and was surprised that United and Delta were so desperate to "push tin" around that they invested in the reengining program.  Such was the passenger load then that the OEMs couldn't keep up with airlines' delivery needs, so airlines kept the DC-8s flying.
