Very nicely done. Does the Polish Air Force still fly this type?

Not for much longer. Their Su-22s and MiG-29s will be replaced by 48 KAI FA-50s.

@alex_stela This is gorgeous! Did you need to convert it, or does Modelsvit make an Su-22 now?

Yes, they do. Last Fitters in NATO.

Modelsvit made kits of Su-17/20/22 family few years ago. Su-22UM3K was one of them. Still waiting for Su-22M4.

Did you make that up or is that a thing? I've thought for some time now these would be a good fit for a revamped RNZAF strike capacity. :)

That is a super Su-22 @alex_stela, the modern scheme really suits them & you've caught it beautifully. 👍

Steve.

Well, that’s depressing :(

It's certainly a less charismatic aircraft, but due to fatigue life limitations on the MiGs, it's apparently more capable than they are at the moment, and can carry 1,000 kg more stores than an Su-22 with similar range, and of course, much more modern avionics and better compatibility with Poland's F-16s in terms of stores.

Yep, I’m with that but as an aeroplane there is no contest ;). That’s progress!

It explains the routing via Poland of the team when they left the UK this summer. I think they also went via Egypt?

Wasn't Lockheed Martin a partner with KAI in the development of the FA-50? There could be quite a bit of F-16 DNA inside.

Cheers,

Bill
