Lincolnshire Heritage Aviation Centre (home to Just Jane) restoring a Blenheim / Bolingbroke and a B-25

Two news articles here about plans to restore a Blenheim IV / Bolingbroke and a B-25 to ground running condition.

Splendid news.

Blenheim:

and B-25:

I should probably own up to being a member of their 'Rivet Club'. Sign up and you get regular emails and access to their cctv in the hangar. Who doesn't want to see another airworthy Lancaster- still a few years to go but they seem to be getting there.

There is also the (ground running) Mosquito in there.

That news article:

The Royal Airforce Museum announced a list of aircraft up for transfer in 2021 and the required bid process in order to receive one.  We bid for the B25 and in August 2022 we were very pleased to receive the confirmation that our bid had been successful and we would be the new owners of 44-29366.

Yes indeed.

Apologies for what might be seen as a diversion from the original topic, but I'm so sorry to learn from 'Aeroplane' January 2023 edition received today that the RAFM has seen fit to donate a P51D Mustang (44-73415) to an Australian museum ... because ... the RAFM say - no other  (UK) mueum qualified

The esteemed Director of RAFM (one Maggie Appleton) apparently failed to be available to respond to comment to Aeroplane's request for comment.

A shame, don't you think?

How many more airfames is the RAFM considering to 'donate' to other museums?  Surely if they don't have room to display at Hendon or Cosford they can be stored or lent to other (UK ! ) museums?????

Just wondering.

1) where?  Cosford is the storage facility, there isn't much else.

2) again: which ones of the suitable options where it would fit in the collection have the indoor space and logistics to do so?

On balance it is much better to see the B25 at East Kirby on a real airfield with her engines running, it will really be something. And with all the other aircraft and museums on site it really is becoming something of a mecca.

It seems like the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is building quite a collection of aircraft. A taxiable Avril Lancaster that will soon fly, a taxiable De Havilland Mosquito that will sadly not fly, a North American B-25 Mitchell under restoration to taxiable condition, a Handley Page Hampden under restoration to static condition and now a Bristol Blenheim/Bolingbroke also under restoration to running condition? This will be quite a collection soon
