Fouga CM.170 Magister 1/72 Special Hobby

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow modellers,

this is no.13 in my IAF/IDF collection, this time rather nice and enjoyable Special Hobby kit.

During the Six Day War, the Fougas were taken from the IAF Flying School in Hatzerim and deployed as ground attack planes armed with rockets and bombs. The SH kit offered one of them, the rockets pods came from CMK resin set.

Cheers,

Libor

Very nice build, what were the colors used?

These are Gunze Aqueous H72 Dark Earth and H328 Blue on upper sides with H305 underneath.

Im assuming its photoetch from the kit supporting the canopies.?

Pete

There were no photoetched in the kit, those braces I scratch built from plastic using the kit (rather thick) parts as a guide.

Thanks everyone for comments!

I can remember seeing one of these at an air show in New Hampshire about 30 years ago. Like a sports car…you had to climb down into it!

Yeah, had the same feelings once... Climbed down to one of them at Hatzerim and enjoyed it a bit 🙂 (except rather poor state of most of the planes there):

Very nice! The Magister looks great in this camo paint. This seems to be a very good kit, sometimes I have to get one to build an Austrian Fouga!

I have one of these special hobby kits ready to make in Austrian livery!

I  have a personal connection to Austria, and an building a variety of planes flown by the A AD since WW2.

@Redboost's model is a super little plane, and given me a lot of hope for the way mine builds.
