Thanks Mark,

I'm absolutely certain yours will surpass mine on many levels.

Cheers,

Alistair

I’m quite certain that is very kind and overly generous; and hyperbolically unlikely! 😊

I had all sorts of plans today including actually getting on with the Swordfish but have just had a call and will be working for the next two nights due to a call off.

Anyway, Prop done....ish

And I got the tidying up done.

Looks lovely Alistair,  shame you're having to work though,  although think about the money as they say!!!

Great work

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I didn't have to do it but we are struggling for staff at the moment.

I've stuck the pic of the prop in. Don't quite know how I missed it the first time.

Alistair

Masked up for the walkway lines.

Paint sprayed.

And unmasked.

Hmm that will require some further work.

Nothing that can't be fixed though.

A little work was also done to the prop.

Thanks Chris,

The prop still needs a little work but should look ok under a satin coat.

Cheers,

Alistair

Maybe worth checking those chips - the 4-blade Spitfire prop was made of wood so it would not have metalic chips.

(And I think the yellow tips are too big)

Thanks for the info.

Can't regulate for my own stupidity and laziness. :D

Looking absolutely fab, Alistair, and the MSG over PRU Blue is a gorgeous combination, especially with the white theatre markings.

On the home stretch now! ;)

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Mark,

Clear Coat and stickers today I hope.

Thanks Roger,

The walkway lines were fun, but easier than trying to get the long decals down straight. :D

A quick mask, a blast of Rubber Black and some Yellow touch ups  later......

Once that's dry it'll get a light drybrush of some Nato Black for some variation.

Thanks for looking,

Stickers on the top and bottom.

That should be it for tonight as we're off out to see "Violent Night" which looks like it'll be fun.

The Port and Starboard side will be done tomorrow.

A word of warning for @2996 Victor there are no diagrams in the destructions* for the underside stencils, so I just copied the positions from another MK.IX spit.

They are also very thin and delicate so care is needed manipulating then around.

Nice save on the prop, it looks much better! What a neat paint scheme. I don't think I've ever seen it before - I really like it!

What did you think? I just heard the Empire podcast review as I read your update!

Thanks Zac,

It is a different scheme and I fancied doing it as soon as I saw the box.

Violent Night was an utter hoot. A great piece of entertainment which will go on our Christmas watch list in future.

I'm not saying much more in case I drop any spoilers.

Alistair

Alistair,

Looking lovely with (most of) the decals on. Those wing walk lines were worth the extra effort,

Thanks Roger,

I should get the rest done today and if I'm lucky a clear coat but will get on with the undercarriage bits.

Alistair

As said above, an unusual scheme which you’ve executed really well, Alistair. Your PR Spit is definitely going to stand out, and not only because it’s got funny little blue roundels! :)

I also did the exhausts.

And while I was at it got the undercarriage bits all painted up.

The main undercarriage doors still need tidied up as I see I forgot to sand the sprue nib back but that is a matter of minutes tomorrow.

Clear coat tomorrow and then some light weathering.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair
