I really don't know what's wrong with me but I got brave.

I've got to admit this all fits together nicely. There won't be much filler required.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Looking great, Alistair, you'll be flinging blue paint around before we know it! Great to know it all goes together without much drama, too! ;)

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Mark,

Hopefully paint isn't too far off.

Behold! A gapless spit wingroot join with the right dihedral! Time to buy a lottery ticket I think.

Andy

I think you're right there.

Whilst awaiting paint drying on other stuff I got the canopy masked, the empennage on and some seamwork done.

Looks a little bit more like a Spitfire now.

I've used Krystal Kear in the camera holes as masking until the paint is done, but I didn't photograph that.

Primer will tell if I've got the seams.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Looking very nice so far.

And I hope you enjoyed your movie.

I wonder why only a few Spitfires had the bulged (bigger oil tank?) lower cowling - if it made a positive difference to performance or operation I would have expected the feature to get rolled into general production.

Regards,

Adrian

Thanks Adrian,

Apologies for the late reply though I thought I had done it.

We went to see "The Menu" which was a hoot and I can thoroughly recommend it.

Definitely! Looking great, Alistair :)

Thanks Mark.

It has been surprisingly painless so far.

Kiss of Death, I suppose.

Finally got some PRU Blue flung about.

Not much admittedly but it's a start.

Oh and some flat aluminium.

If I get these dry I'll get the radiators in place and then I should be good for some primer.

Thanks for looking,

A wee word of warning for @2996 Victor the carburettor air intake comes in two pieces but that is not mentioned in the destructions.

I'm certain you would have spotted it but just in case.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Thanks, Alistair, I'll keep a lookout for that! :) My kit arrived today so I'm just petting the sprues :D and looking at the destructions. I'll wash the mouldings this evening and I hope to make a start tomorrow.....

While I was out in the garage some primer was flashed about.

The canopy needs a blend at the front but the seams are good so a bit of rescribing and then some PRU Blue.

I'll see if I can get that done before work but I'm not hopeful.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Thanks Mark,

Life has got in the way and there will be no blue today unfortunately.

Not happy about it but what can you do.
