jura_vg
Angie was an aircraft that tells a story. It was a part of 512th Fighter Squadron which operated in France during 1944 and 1945. This aircraft went through many modifications and it was quite a collection of parts. It has a tail section and starboard wing from an older olive drab painted Thunderbolt. Invasion stripes were partially removed and after painting a yellow nose flash, a name Angie was applied. The pinup came last and ofcourse on the part taken from another aircraft. Must tell that I wouldn't make this subject without research from this website Hasegawa kit is a nice base. Plastic is smooth and fit is good. Aires made it more complicated with resin/PE set, but that is what we want. Engine section has a lot of parts and assembly is not very clear through the instuctions, so you'll need some additional documentation and reference photos. They didn't provide part between cylinder rows as well as engine flaps, so I photoetched that by myself. Also applied few more wires on the engine. Cockpit, gun bay and wheel bay are nicely done. Gun barrels, pitot tube and gunsight are from Master. Metal finish is Alclad Aluminium over Alclad Gloss Black Base. Other colors are mostly Gunze. Chipping was made with AK Warn Effect liquid. Decals are out of the box and are very good, without any trouble softening them. WIP topc is here Enjoy the photos, I hope you'll like it 32

Spitfire31
A great model, full of character. The detailing and the finish combine to make a very convincing impression of a 'flying machine'. But, where did the pin-up go? 😉 Kind regards, Joachim

HansReggelsen
Great model of an interesting aircraft! One can never have too many P-47s! Another of my favourite aircraft! Cheers Hans J
Bertie McBoatface
Nice. I like a story. Shouldn't the underneath of the OD wing be grey?
