The GB's are starting to stack up now, I'm struggling to keep up.

The Twins and FROG GB's have got entries from me running, the Baby Boomer GB is waiting on me joining in and now this one is on the horizon! There's never a dull moment on Britmodeller!

My Short Mayo composite is ready and waiting. :D

Take your time its more about fun than rushing.

I can't have more than 1 model on the go at a time, I've tried before and it really highlights my lack of multi tasking skills

What you need is a spreadsheet.  :)   Mine is called Gideon.  She allows me to keep track of pretty much everything in my life.   I have 15 concurrent builds with another three to start on Saturday.  :mental:

Hi Enzo

I use spreadsheets at work every day, working out preventative maintenance schedules and workload planning and spares control for the department, but the way I see it is that is work and modelling is a hobby to get away from work, so I just build on a whim on when and what I fancy at doing the time, and spreadsheets would make it more like work. It's like my other hobby of volunteering at a preserved railway, yes you are rostered to your operational turns, but it's old technology once you get started, no computer or electronic aids to help :)

Technology is helpful, but it's nice to take a break from it at times :)

Ian :)

I predict that by next weekend

A) I will be in Athens for an overnight event so I will not be able to start until the Monday after and...

B ) I very well might have 5 builds on the bench at the same time.

That will be fun.  I think I'll start with this one...

The decals are junk, but I have all kinds of decal lettering, numbers, etc...and I might be able to concoct some sort of obtuse logo.  Don't think of it as a 'What If' but rather a 'Why Not?' build.  A fictional transport company...I hope that's allowed...?

Nice choice John, Im sure you can find a good option to do. Personally I’ve always line the scheme on this one.

Yes.  Nice looking markings.  Unfortunately mine will not be so ornate.  I think I will have to create a fictional transport outfit...

"Dry Lake Freight and Transport" or something like that...

If it came with ski’s it would make a great bush plane.

Welcome to the build, just did a bit of reading on this and it’s quite interesting. Please start a thread and you can start on it. So long as the majority of work isn't done before the official start date of March 23rd.

Will do within the next days . All kits stay untouched until the official start.

Is there a retail version of Gideon? My spreadsheet's obviously broken

Hi all. If other Group Builds go according to plan, I'd like to offer my proposed build...

20240312-201603.jpg

NC47M s/n 99 was built in 1929 and received its floats in 1934or 1936. Pre 1939, it was owned by Alaska Air Transport Inc and sold to Alaska Coastal Airlines in 1942. Using this website: https://petersonfield.org/airplanes/NC47M/index.php we have a discrepancy with the scheme/markings. The box art/instructions scheme is correct for pre 1939 but the decals are for 1942 onwards. I'm going to live with this discrepancy but it'll be interesting to find out if the kit scheme/markings are correct.

I won't start a thread just yet, just in case this doesn't get off the water :giggle:.
