Roman Schilhart
Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is the new 1/72 Zvezda Yak-9D, released earlier this year. I built from the box, adding decal markings from Printscale. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, photos by Wolfgang Rabel. The new Zvezda tooling is a quantum leap over previous Yak-9 model kits which are few and far between (the only other viable option from Dakoplast came out 25 years ago). Due to the "snap-fit" design there are some simplifications, mainly on the landing gear. A full build review will appear in a future editon of Phoenix Scale Publications. Thank you for your interest. georgeusa
Wow. Such a wonderful portrayal of the Yak 9. You cannot tell it is a "snap fit" kit. Thanks for sharing.

Sky Keg
Roman……..you turned a toy into a piece that belongs in a museum. The gray scheme looks perfect on the Yak. Superb and it`s complimented perfectly with Wolfgang`s outstanding photographs. Mike

Pete in a shed
Thats turned out a little beauty. . How were the printscale decals? there is a little silvering evident, were they a bit reluctant to settle down? Pete

Thanks for your feedback, Pete, I could have done a better job on the decals. The newer Printscale sheets are of good quality, although they are fragile and like to curl up.
djos
Another very well done model. Colours and weathering looks just right. Regards, Djordje
Rich G
That's really nice Roman. I saw this kit appear on a hobby store website recently but wasn't sure whether to get one because of the 'snapfit' tag but this looks superb, your paintwork is always impressive but I think it helps bring the most out of this kit. Thanks for showing us. Rich
