FMA IA.58 Pucará (Special Hobby 1/72)

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Here is my latest model finished, the FMA IA.58 Pucará (Special Hobby 1/72)

Model represents the aircraft A-511 Grupo de Ataque 3 - BAM Malvinas, pilot mayor Carlos Tomba. This aircraft was shot down on the 21st may 1982 by Lt Cdr "Sharkey" Ward piloting the Sea Harrier XZ451/006. Mayor Tomba survived the ejection and later became prisoner of war.

I'm really glad to finally finish this kit. It fought me all the way (I started this building on June 2020). Several problems with fit and when it was almost done I had a problem with the windscreen and broke it when trying to fix it. I had to find another kit to replace the part (Thanks Trevor ).

Not my best model but glad to finally call it done.

What a great build and finish

Never seen a camo in those shades before ....very unique

The subject is something very unusual too

Nice details on some of the underwing stores and the cockpit and props

Special Hobby kits aren't always easy to put together and this looks fantastic

Bravo!!!

This is really nice! :D

I've always loved the line of the Pucara and your model is a very nice example! :goodjob:

My only worry is that you have set the bar so high, that I may have it difficult to reach it, when I - eventually - get around to build mine!

Cheers :bye:

I have come to learn that some kits from Special Hobby are beautiful and a joy to work on ( P-40 is one example ) and then there are offerings like this one that are nothing but a large headache to the builder / artist.  It looks authentic and accurately done.  I commend you for pulling this one across the finish line.  :like:
