mbdesignart
Sadly time ran out for this kit build to make it fully finished for Telford. I may take the bits for drooling over but they will be under a cover, just in case. Here are some WIP images. As I’ll be down at the show it will be a few days before I am able pop my head up here again. All new suspension, drivetrain and other components. Tyres are supplied seperately from the rims and there are hubcaps to chrome yet. The springs have enough give that should a big load be added a good deal of sag can be achieved. Diesel nose version for a change. Internal rib details Rear door options, I plumped for the twin doors which will be open when mounted. On the Mk1 the bulkhead was an option, I've decided to leave it off for a change, All new cab internals, as you'd expect the differences over the MkII are many and quite marked. Much deatil painting to do on these parts. Thanks for dropping by
Neddy
I used to drive one of these back in the day. It was a diesel, too. One of the other drivers was so heavy-footed he could use the low-speed torque of the diesel engine to get wheelspin in the first three gears! I'll tag along if I may, just for the nostalgia of it. Marco F.
Oh, that's looking great, I like the older body, even so I would prefer the non Diesel front Marco F
Anteater
Wh-what? Have I missed something?! When will we able to buy one of these???!!! (assuming you can point us to a local friendly source of such things...)
Noel Smith
Who actually makes this transkit? Presuming it is a transkit. I have a feeling that when I was scrolling through the Telford traders for this year,I saw this on one of their sites.

Ints30
It will be an interesting build and will follow the further development. I have built a Mk II myself.

Noel Smith
Sorry, I did not understand Six97's reply 'The OP'. However, all was revealed. Went to Te;lford on Saturday and saw said transkit on the Motobitz trade stand.
mbdesignart
Just to clear up any confusion, I have it on very good authority this is not a 'Transkit' requiring a donor kit. heloman1
That body moulding look excellent. Looking forward to progress, what livery will you be using? Colin

I may continue my beverage brand theme or perhaps a car parts delivery van.

But I can't quite remember the hire company name. I know they were once very common. Hopefully someone will have a better memory than me. (Not difficult). Bengalensis
Any chance we will see this front end? Hoping a build of the first Supervan is getting a little closer... https://www.truckanddriver.co.uk/latest-stories/the-original-transit-supervan/

Nick Indeed, only having to deal with the wide arches would be great.
mbdesignart
I heard at SMW that someone is planning a version with the flat front end that will be available in the new year. Supervan - I was chatting with Nick Belbin about the arches as I thougt the rears were those from the Mk1 works Escort, but he begged to difffer.
mbdesignart
A little update. After having the opportunity to get the decals printed along with some others they are now on and the body can now be clear coated. This build is for a client hence the choice of livery. The interior is coming along too with the addition of the seats and the door cards have been completed with handles/winders, I forgot to take a pic of those. Those who know their Transits may get excited at the grille inserts for another version.

mbdesignart
Thanks for the likes. I won't mention the deliberate mistake on the driver's seat supports. I really should have read the instructions!
