Royal Navy radar sets

I've not seen a reference to Type 265, and it doesn't appear in the listing in the usually authoritative F.A.Kingsley (Ed) Radar and Other Electronic Systems in the Royal Navy in World War 2 (Basingstoke: MacMillans Press Ltd, 1995).  You may be referring to RDF Type 285 - see https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/11.ancient3/karte031.en.html.  If so, note that there were different aerial fits depending on whether the set itself had a duplexer (which gave the ability to transmit and receive on the same array elements); if so, it was a five-antenna fit instead of a six-antenna one (ie three transmit and three receive).

For the aerials for RDF Type 282, see https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/11.ancient3/karte031.en.html - although few fits had the (wooden?) struts under the antenna, as opposed to wires attached to the reflectors at the back of the array).  https://ontheslipway.com/category/rangefinders/ has a better top view of the array on a pompom director (scroll down to a photo showing the directors on HMS Prince of Wales).

Thanks @Our Ned I thought the 265 was wrong. I'm converting Airfix's Warspite to a later fit and I got that from AIRFIX magazine for modellers – October 1978 – ‘Queen Elizabeth’ class battleships in World War 2.

Gidday Ratch, sorry about the late reply, I've only just seen this. I agree with @Our Ned in that I can't find any reference to type 265 radar, I think it could be type 285. I simply google type 285 radar and then click on 'images'. HTH. Regards, Jeff.
