Winded Penguin
Both awesome, but for me the JP knocks the ball right out of the park. Just lovely 👍

I dunno Steve, the JP decals hurt my eyes applying them! 😆

I guess I'm a bit used to that scheme for a JP, but the camo & red scheme on the F.8 is unusual & really does jump out at you. Steve.
ColinChipmunkfan
Two top notch models. Having built several JPs of varying quality I think yours is excellent. Colin
T-21
The JP is definitely in the colours of the RAF College of Air Warfare. I lived at RAF Manby when these were operating 1964-66.
cpoud117
Great models and great pics! What sort of photography setup do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

Not a criticism of your modelling by the way - just wondering if it's another case of Airfix taking scans of museum aircraft and not correcting issues with the real thing?

Sabrejet
1 hour ago, Gisbod said: Wasn’t taken as such! Did you mean the oleos or flattened wheels? Oleos: many (many!) years ago I was part of the team that restored Meteor F.8 VZ530/WA984 and later, with airworthy T.7 WA591. The F.8 in particular looked 'weird' until we realized that the oleos were over-inflated. Once we let them down it looked exactly how it should. The Airfix kit looks the same way.
Bertie McBoatface
First I see Ratch's Beaver and now this really fine pair from you. Jokes aside, they are sweet models. Well done.
Gisbod
Just thought I’d add a couple of in progress pics.. This is just the extra lead I added in addition to filling the assigned compartment - and still required post build weights! Cockpit tub prior to closure: The spats gap that I couldn’t eradicate without filling! Hope that expands on the previous posts.. Natter
Very nice models. Airfix seem to be getting better with their panel lines on the newer moulds.

Thanks Natter, yep, I’ve just built the Anson and have started the new big Spitfire and every new model they bring out seems to be better than the last - the spit is a real treat! The surface textures are absolutely flawless. Guy

Terry1954
A beautiful pair of post war jets Guy. Really like them both. I do believe I took a pic of both models on the comp table. They looked even better in real time! Well done. Terry

AntPhillips
Beautiful pair of builds, I must say that JP is a real looker. I bought a starter kit JP for my daughter a few years ago when she expressed an interest in building a kit, unfortunately she never really caught the bug and the kit is still languishing there unbuilt. I dont normally build 1/72 any more but I think I might give it a go, quite fancy finishing it in 79 squadron markings, I'm off to look at what Xtradecals are about now.
