Baby, let me follow you down - Special Hobby 1/72 Harvard Mk.II/IIA/IIB - Finished

Recommended Posts

Not as successful a day as I'd hoped for.

Still, some progress after the first coat of white primer there were still some seams to deal with.

This is the result.

I was hoping to get the brown preshade for the yellow and a first coat of yellow done today but I'd forgotten I had my Covid booster to get this afternoon and we're off out to see Wakanda Forever tonight.

Other bits got a coat of primer.

The semi-circular cut out had to be done by hand but I've done a couple of dry fits and it all lines up nicely.

I'm not certain if I'll get much done tomorrow as I have to head into Wonderland to pick up some Christmas stuff for my Nephew.

Might just see if I can find a PRU Spitfire as well.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Nice progress, Alistair, and good to have spotted those seams.

Enjoy your evening out, and I hope the COVID booster doesn't knock you about - I had mine on Saturday and it's reputation is well-deserved.....

Cheers,

Mark

Looking good in primer Alistair not long for paint now.  I must have got lucky with the booster as only a slight headache.

Great work and enjoy the film.

What they said about the nice progress, Alistair.  Hope the booster doesn’t knock you about too much.

Thanks very much Gentlemen,

My last booster gave me a sore arm but so far nothing.

So all good.

Cheers,

Alistair

This morning some panel lining in brown for the yellow and black for the rest.

Once that was done the first coat of FAA/RAF Yellow was laid down.

While I was at it some semi-gloss black was flung at other bits.

Looking good Alistair,  great to see the yellow going on.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

It's a slow process as I need lots of highly thinned layers but it'll get there.

Of course it wasn't helped by a trip to Wonderland in Edinburgh and more Scottish Rain*.

Cheers,

Alistair

Excellent progress Alistair,  what treat did you get at Wonderland ???

Chris

Thanks Chris,

The reason for the trip was to pick up some stuff from my Nephews Christmas list.

So I got him these.

And his Mum got him these. (Well sent me the money for them)

Now I just need to get them out to Marmaris for Christmas.

The next item is for me and is all @Dunny's fault.

I also got some pigment fixer and HR Hobbies (Alclad) High Speed Silver.

A successful day.

Alistair

Excellent haul!

I've had a Tamiya Matilda for absolute donkeys' years intending to do a Malta Tank Regiment example. The Caunter scheme is always attractive.

Looking forward to seeing your take on the Beaufort! :)

Love it - you will not regret it! Actually that Mk.IV Blenheim could be fun...

Thanks Mark.

I know he's been eyeing this one up for a while and he likes the Caunter scheme so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do withit.

Thanks Roger.

It's all your fault of course.

I was very tempted by the Blenheim myself when I looked at it but it's for the wee man's Christmas so I'll need to get it wrapped up quickly before temptation takes over.

Very nice haul Uncle Alistair 😄😉

Some cracking kits there.

Looking forward to the Beau.

Thanks Chris,

Me too.

It won't be a patch on Rogers but it looks fun.

Great progress Ali!

I know a great home for those RNZAF markings if you don't use them...😇

No worries,

Drop me a PM with your address and I'll get them off to you.

Cheers,

Alistair

Tish and pish. You could try a Coastal Command scheme (EDSG over white). I was very close...
