Good god I hope this is finally a 48th Hunter T.7/8! I'd take 32nd Hunter T.7/8 as well but please be 48th! No one has ever done a full kit Hunter T.7. It's SO under represented!

I have the Fisher set but it pains me that Revell never followed up its 1/32 Hunters with the rumoured already-tooled T.7. But I doubt DBMK are going to compete with the Airfix and Revell Hunters.

A 1/48 or 1/32 Fairey Delta FD.2 is another I'd greatly welcome, along with the 1/48 Gannet AEW and 1/32 JP3/4 and Gnat.

1/72 Scimitar would be a take my money moment. PLEASE. Or Sea Vixen FAW.1? Or Buccaneer S.1? Maybe Javellin FAW.1? Yes, these would probably be Airfix's sort of thing but they tend to cover later variants of cold war jets and don't leave much scope for early ones (both Buccaneer S2 kits, 1/48 Sea Vixen FAW.2, Vulcan B2, Victor B2/SR2/K2, 1/48 Javellin FAW.9/9R, etc). Is that enough to not be directly competing? I'd probably take at least one of each if there was a new tool Mk1 an Mk2 Sea Vixen from DBMK and Airfix respectively.

If any manufacturer wants to do that I can get you access to one.......... please I really want a kit of the Twin II

Asked if they were working to any preferred and they replied they'd consider any potential scale for future subjects. Further to that I suggested a new 72nd scale Sea Harrier.

  • wellsprop changed the title to 1/32 Hawker Sea Fury DB Model Kits - Announced!

Pleased with this, looking forward to pricing, and to seeing it in the flesh finished quality, but with the subjects chosen, if done well and at acceptable / reasonable value prices then they should be very popular.

Had a good chat with the DBMK guys yesterday at the stand at Telford.

They have a great philosophy of accuracy first but also buildabilty - the inclusion of good engineering like wing spars etc. in design of the kits.

All very exciting!

So...designstage is underway. The Scimitar and Hornet are first, so assuming this will appear somewhere end of 2023 or in 2024? Great news though! It has puzzled me why Special Hobby has not followed through after their Tempest II....🤔

I am puzzled by the long lead times for product development and a company’s ability to persevere with 0 cash flow.  It must be terribly challenging and I suppose supported externally.  These folks have day jobs I guess?  Not a criticism - just an expression of sympathy.

Latest CAD renders showing detail added in the undercarriage bays. There are a couple of things that we are going to correct (the upper attachment point for the inner gear door retraction struct and the shape of the fairing behind the prop inside the cowling). Let us know if you spot anything else.

Progress on our Sea Fury. This render has been sent for comments and so is not the final CAD. This will be in 1/32. Release in 2024. Comments welcome
