Tamiya 1/10 RC Porsche 911 RSR

Hi all got this for my birthday ( not built an rc car since I was in my early 20s, over 40 yrs ago) 

Things have changed a lot (detail wise I don't think for the better)

My brother had a tamiya  rc, was really  technical  and great fun to build,  I have heard that now,  they are simple...

Well she is finished.






And she is very robust (let my grandson have a go) he's 2 got a lot of crashing and rough handling but there is not a mark on it.

From my extensive experience, I strongly recommend cleaning up the wheel well cuts as any jagged edges causes a stress riser and the bodyshell will invariably crack at those points.

BTW, that's a TT-something chassis which is Tamiya's generic 1/10 'ish scale. With the Porsche 911 bodyshell combo it scales out to about 1/9th. The Tamiya wheel's width and offset is horribly off and doesn't help the off scale appearance. HPI produced a line called "Cup Racer" and is a lot closer to 1/10th scale.  Tamiya also produced a line called the "M" chassis which was closer to 1/10th.
