Marlin
Hi. I've not been able to build anything since May because of a complete renovation of our apartment. We've been evacuated since September, and in two week we'll return to our "new" apartment. And when we've returned and all our belongings have been unpacked it's time to get back to building model airplanes. I plan to have my work table set up for new years. And in 2023 Sweden will celebrate its 500th anniversary as an independent nation. In 1523 Gustaf Wasa was elected as King of Sweden and Sweden seceded from the Union of Kalmar that has been in place since the 13th century uniting Denmark, Norway and Sweden as a single country under a Danish monarch. So to celebrate this anniversary I'll build mostly aircrafts that has served in the Swedish Armed Forces. I've set a rather high goal for my self with 9 kits. And the players are: SK2 Friedrichshafen FF33E - Marivox. 20221031_190706 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Casa C.212 in the Swedish Coast Guards colours, and this will be the only build in 1/72 - Special Hobby. 20221031_190724 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr SAAB Safir SK50 - Tarangus. 20221031_190740 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr SAAB SK60/105 - Pilot Replica 20221031_190757 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr SAAB B17 - Tarangus 20221031_190812 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Supermarine Spitfire S31 - Airfix 20221031_190840 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr SAAB J32B Lansen - Tarangus, borrowed picture, since my kit came without box, decals and instruction. SAAB J35J Draken - Hasegawa (Will be a part of the upcoming Draken STGB) 20221031_190922 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr SAAB 37 (version not yet decided - Tarangus. 20221031_190903 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll be adding lots of resin and PE to much of my builds, what and to which aircraft will be reveled when I come to start each build. Depending on how my progress will be I might add or detract some of the kits. And I've not yet set a build order, but I think I'll start with the SK2 Friedrichshafen FF33E since I reckon that this will be the most time consuming build. I've not built a bi-winged aircraft for at least 40 years, and that time I used sewing thread I "borrowed" from my mother. This time around I plan to use something more appropriate for the rigging. If I get my bench up before new years I've got several stalled builds to continue on, including a Swedish Air Force A32A Lansen, to keep me busy until New Years. /Bosse

Andrés S.
This is indeed a great project. Some time ago I built the CASA C-212, with Spanish decoration in low visibility gray. I've liked this one from the Swiss Coast Guard since I saw it, it's very showy. I don't know if you want to do the riveting of the plane, but if so, let me know because I can give you some plans of the plane with the distribution of the rivets. Good luck !!! Marlin
Hi. It's now only one week until we can return to our completely renovated appartment. 025 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This weekend I'm going to IKEA to get me a new workbench. And during the spring I'll have the opportunity to build up the workstation of my dreams. I'll be buying something like this to dress my table with. And of course I'll be looking over my lights, this one is on my Wishlist. I'll also be adding a small bookshelf on the side of the bench for reference books. The plan is to unpack all non-modelling related stuff right away, install the washing machine, put all furniture in place, hang ceiling lamps and curtains/blinds, and then have the bench set up before Christmas. And now I'm actually planing to maybe take a day or two off from work in the new year, just to have a build marathon for a few days. I've not done any work since May on my models. /Bosse

Orso
But we are back in an union with Denmark (and lot of other European countries) so perhaps we should call the anniversary celebrations off. Marlin
Hi. My return to the work bench has got one step closer. Yesterday we got our apartment back from the builders. And everything is new and shiny. The hallway and 2 smaller bed rooms. 026 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 027 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 028 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 029 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 030 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr We got to chose colour scale our selves, and we also opted for oak parquette wood floor in the whole apartment. A small WC in the hallway has gotten green ceramic tiles on the floor and white ones as splashguard around the basin. 031 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The kitchen has gotten new cabinets and tops. 032 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 033 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 034 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 035 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 036 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Oak parquette in the kitchen as well, but unfortunately they've not installed the new fridge. The notes says that it'll be delivered on 2-3 weeks time. In our case that's not a real problem, we have our own fridge and freezer since the old one wasn't large enough for a family of five. The bathroom has also gotten a complete remodeling, with white rectangular ceramic tiles from floor to ceiling, and the same green ones on the floor. 037 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr where we had the shower before, we now have a "laundry room". And where the tub was, it's now a shower. 038 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Unfortunately the new window in the bathroom doesn't have the tilt function our old window had, but at least you can still open it. But everything isn't as it should be. The window in Axels room isn't installed correctly, and it's unlocked at the front. As it is now it can neither be opened and closed. 040 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 041 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And on the balcony they've reinstalled our glazing panels in the wrong order, and the rails for them are full of debris. So as it is now we can't open them fully, and the windows don't slide as the should. 042 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 043 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 044 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 045 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I wonder how long time it'll take the builders to fix these errors? Tomorrow morning will the removal firm come and move all our stuff from where we've been living the last two months and move everything back again. But we started to move some smaller items, such as delicate wine glasses and china, yesterday and we'll continue with that during the afternoon day and this evening. The plan is still to have everything unpacked and in order to Christmas. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. Yesterday we moved back to our "new" apartment. And the move went well. The movers started around 8:30 and were done by 16:00 Considering that we moved out from the third floor, and the building don't have an elevator. So the guys had to carry everything down three flight of stairs and the carry it up two flights of stair again. So now we live in a sea of boxes. 046 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 047 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 048 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 049 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'd then spent around three hours moving boxes around so that we at least have the coffee table to sit at. In the evening we had the traditional "move-pizza" 051 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And after that a well deserved shower. 050 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And since we have a new bathroom, new shower curtains were in order, the old one had reached maturity, and it's not everyday you get a completely new bathroom. I guess we'll be unpacking for the foreseeable future, and it'll take some weeks before I can start setting up my bench again. But I still plan to have it up by Christmas. And I hope it'll take at least 25 year until I have to move again. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hello, Last weeked we celebrated Fake Christmas in our summer cottage. Fake Christmas is a weekend that my youngest son invented for about ten years ago. We had celebrated Christmas in the cottage in 2010, but nobody liked it, but Axel. That winter we got over a meter of snow at the cottage and it was quite a chore to just get water for washing and the toilet. We spent the whole holiday melting snow on the wood stove, so not so festive as one could imagine. So I wasn't up for another Christmas at the cottage, but Axel said why don't we celebrate Christmas another weekend. Said and done, so now Friday before 1st of Advent is Fake Christmas and we celebrate it just exactly as if it where Christmas Eve/Day. And this year we actually was met by a wintery Northern Uppland, with a few centimeters of snow on the lawn. 052 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And we kicked the weekend of with our traditional "Glögg Fika" 053 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And we didn't have to decorate the Christmas Tree, it's been decorated and are always up in the living room and has been dressed the last 7-8 years I think. 054 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Dinner was of course a traditional "Jul bord"/Christmas buffé. 055 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr As for my self I was wondering i Santa would come? 056 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Since it was Fake Christmas, a running of Love Actually is a must. 057 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And of course did Santa come. We ended the evening with Helene Fischers Christmas concert, more "glögg" and gingerbread cookies. 058 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Apparently I'd been a good boy the last year. From the kids I got some more plastic to the stash. I must have mentioned that I'd like to be better at painting figures, since I got a 1/16 Queens Guard figure. ICM kit in a Revell box. 059 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 060 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 061 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I really look forward into start building and painting this one and see if I can get it to look real. And I didn't just get one challenge, but two. I also got a Roden Gloster Gladiator that I'll turn into a Swedish J8 version. 062 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 063 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 064 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 065 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 066 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The kit come with the skis that was put on the Swedish Volunteers, F19, in Finland. The kit decals looks a bit odd, so I'll replace them with some aftermarket ones. When I got home I started to look for new decals, and I found some new at Super-Hobby in Poland. And after seeing these I dropped the idea of doing a F19 one, since they are quite common. So instead I'll be doing #5 from F8 at Barkarby just north of Stockholm in the aluminium dope colours from 1938. I grew up just a stones throw from F8 Barkarby so for me this livery is a must to have. 067 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 068 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Super-Hobby also had some more stuff for the Gladiator so I also got; Control surface and wheels from Aires. 069 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Photo etch from Parts. 070 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And from Quickboost, gun pods and exhausts. 071 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And a cockpit bulkhead, air intakes and cockpit doors. 072 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr On the home front we've managed to get some more stuff unpacked since the evacuation. This weekend Axel and I got our display cabinets back in place. 073 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 074 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll give the glass shelves a cleaning tonight and then I can start to unpack all our build kits. I wonder how many has broken? To be continued..... /Bosse
