Bbdave
I'm still debating if to start this I bought the kit for the GB but not really had the urge to build for most of the year. Having had a look at the kit, it does look nice and I do recognise some parts from when I helped a friend restore one a good few years ago, I'll kick off with the box and spru pics. Robert Stuart
I'd get started building. Take time to enjoy the build, and chill out when you need to. The kit looks nice, but very detailed.

Bbdave
Early start this morning magnifier needed and straight in with the PE !. I'm glad I got the seat under frame done..... yes you can't see it now 😐. I'm not sure how much of the interior will be visible once the turrets on it'll depend on how neat I can get it or the turret will just stay put. Wonder how many of us follow that train of thought? (I'm Spartacus Dave) It's a start, but looks good so far Dave; don't envy you all that PE.
Bbdave
Steady progress being made there are so many small parts but it's all practice, the main issue is trying to apply super glue in tiny amounts I've tried pins but can't get them loaded with glue, any tips? It's not the neatest but looking better than I thought it would. Dave
Ted
That's really nice, it looks like you don't need any gluing advice. I recently built the Accurate Armour kit of the same vehicle and also had trouble with applying the right amount of superglue. I settled on copper wire wound around the end of a bamboo skewer, the windings held some liquid glue and the 5 mm or so of wire sticking out the end sometimes applied the glue dot I needed. Sometimes I used gel superglue and that was easier to dispense.

A sewing ripper is good too or a sewing needle with the eye chopped and using the resultant fork. Edited November 5, 2022 by Marklo
Bullbasket
Cocktail sticks, but the one I use a lot is stretched sprue. Any thickness you want and it'll certainly pick up the glue. John.
Robert Stuart
I use bamboo skewers, often cut to cocktail stick length. Either can be sharpened to either get rid of dried glue or to adapt the tip to the current task. p.s. I prefer slow setting CA to fast acting, it gives time to place the work. 1

I mount mine in old paintbrush handles and when the fork fills up with hardened glue i burn it out with a cigarette lighter
Bbdave
Thanks for the ideas I made an applicator it's a game changer 👍. 3 months is starting to look like a very short time!. With this many tiny bits but the main hull interior is about done ready to paint, I have had a look at the next stages which is the suspension and there are pages and pages devoted to it!. The hull dry fitted Dave
Robert Stuart
That is a lot of detail brass there, Dave, but it looks good. Like your superglue applicator.
Bertie McBoatface
The Gecko product seems to be worth the pain. That hull interior looks nice. I have some of their kits glowering at me from the wardrobe so I'm happy to see that they are actually buildable.

IanC
That looks great so far. What an incredible amount of detail. I admire your skill and stamina - it's not a kit I would consider taking on!

MarcoVanBasten
I just found the Mk2 on offer. If you want to get rid of the Mk1, I might be interested. I would like to do one of the exotic versions, Kuwait or Malaysia, so I think this might be the one. The only thing that worries me is the postage for Italy. Bbdave
This is taking a lot longer than expected the fit of the hull parts hasn't been great so far, not sure if that's me or the kit. The suspension units will be next there's a huge amount of parts in them I'm not sure If it'll all be visable but here goes. Dave

Bbdave
First of the four, I had serious doubts this morning and this would be going back on the shelf. But I had a go and fingers crossed number 1 is done, the parts don't really positively connect or have an obvious finished position so I applied glue to the sub assemblies then I could pose the pieces in the correct final position as I put it all together (if that makes sense). So the shelf will have to wait for now, I'm still unsure if I'll get it done before the time but there is no rushing this. Dave
Trevor L
That does look fiddly, but hang in there and stick with it.
Bbdave
Finally all four corners are done there's some stretched spru to add but that's not a skill I seem to have. There are a few more bits to go on but that entails fitting the wheels and tyres which I want to fit last for ease painting reasons. Looking forward to getting some hull building done.
