DH 112 Venom, serial No. 71

Hi folks,

 

A friend of mine has acquired the data-plate from the above airframe and is wondering whether is would be possible to find out a details of the aircraft; variant, operator, service history etc. so he could build a model to go with the plate itself.

 

Could anyone point me towards a potential source for such info, please ?

I'm guessing here that the "71" is the De Havilland constructors number and not part of the RAF serial? If so, then I suggest contacting Air-Britain or maybe the De H museum at Salisbury Hall. These guys should be able to link the 71 to something tangibly RAF. Once you have a serial number tie-up the world will be your crustacean.
