Mycapt65
Anyone have a tip or a link to a tutorial on how to paint the checkered noses on the 357th FG Mustangs. I Googled and YouTubed it and I can't find anything. Thanks Ron
VolkerR.
If you want do do it quick and simple: Paint the front with white or yellow over the NMF. Mask it off. Cut plenty of little sqares aprox. 3x3mm (in 1/48), roughly the same size. Place these little masks in the right position and spray the darker colour. Done. It is not perfect but will look OK in 1/48: Especially in the 3rd photo you see the imperfections. But for me thats OK. Volker

JWM
What about the small square decals applied on the lighter color area, instead of masking and painting? The softening solution makes decals really following the curves... This would be my choice if needed. (Never done yet) J-W

Johnson
My method is similar to @Black Knight but I cut up the squares before applying them. Here are a couple of 357th FG nose checks I did at 1/72;
