Hunter Rose
Managed to get some shed time betweens episodes of soggy weather, I've started getting some of the little bits together and prepared for paint. IMG_20221031_172147086 by Nick Frost, on Flickr And also want to get the handlebars sorted out, its got no front wheel so I want to chop off the front suspension forks so they only come up to the handlebar brackets. IMG_20221031_172200318 by Nick Frost, on Flickr So I got the saw out and cut them down down to size IMG_20221031_173012017~2 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221031_173655337 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Then got the handlebars in place IMG_20221031_180037495 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221031_180216309 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Then I primed them and the other little bits there are to do IMG_20221104_195731106 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Whilst the primer was drying I painted on the black details of the frame, like the footpegs, front panels and the two brackets at the back which I will attach fins to at some point. IMG_20221104_194812206 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221104_194818019 by Nick Frost, on Flickr I also made a start on roughly planning out how I want the engines to look IMG_20221104_193059714 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221104_193122882 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Think I'll bring the lower engine forward a little bit, so next up I'll start getting the engine structure built up with some styrene sheet and bits so I can get something permanent together. Thanks for looking, more soon
rockpopandchips
Those engine thrusters are looking fantastic. In there going to be a big air scoop up front?
Hunter Rose
2 hours ago, rockpopandchips said: Those engine thrusters are looking fantastic. In there going to be a big air scoop up front? Thanks Brian! Well I want to avoid just throwing a jet intake on the front and have it look like it's just a bike slapped on an engine. I also didn't want to mess with the natural front opening of the fairing because I want to keep the same smooth lines and avoid sanding down around a lot of crazy details. Cant just leave it open either as that wouldn't look right as you'll see inside the radiator and bits that make it obvious that there's no intake of any kind. So it's going to have a long rounded bit filling the middle of the front opening to look as if the air is going around it and being fed into a large intake. So Im probably going to scour the shampoo/shower gel isle to find a suitable bottle to slice a bit off of for it!
Hunter Rose
Time for an update! Had a cold last week which slowed me down a bit but have still managed to do some on this here and there. Started off by spraying the front control bit bright orange, was going to just go with black but thought this looked a bit more sci fi funky! IMG_20221106_140320319 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Also got the handlebars and other bits sprayed black IMG_20221106_140401021 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Painted the little piston detail on the rear brake painted, did it a glossy blue IMG_20221106_142614098 by Nick Frost, on Flickr I have been mucking about with the engine details to see how I'll get it all in and go about making them. Cut some styrene tube and pressed it in to see how that would look IMG_20221107_191854611 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221107_192211006 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221107_192812645 by Nick Frost, on Flickr I'm toying with having the bottom one stick out further so they are in a line but I think I like the stepped look with it sitting further back, plus I'm thinking I want to get the fairing done and screwed in place so I can be really accurate about where I need it all to sit. So next the bulk of what I've been doing is mucking about with my waterslide decals, so I grabbed out my stash and the few sheets of generic ones that I purchased off the bay IMG_20221112_124557788 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Its all a glossy finish so no need to gloss coat it, so I grabbed my bottle of micro sol and micro set and started getting them on. First of all I got 3 little ones on to the small dash to make it look like a monitor of a computerized system, and it will be in the middle of a hard 180 turn so wanted to make it look like an automated warning of a dangerous maneuver or a stall warning. IMG_20221112_130321211 by Nick Frost, on Flickr From there I just started cutting decals for the main fairing, didn't have a plan just made it up on the fly going with what I thought looked right. I want to give it a "technical" look, like maybe its a prototype that still has a lot of warnings/cautions/instructions stenciled directly on. IMG_20221112_132203192 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221112_134223507 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221112_135801129 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221112_142102207 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221112_190713716 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Once I got the one side sorted the tricky bit was copying it all in the same places on the other side! IMG_20221112_191615750 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221113_114351673 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221113_115740469 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Once I was happy with how it was looking I moved on to the main fairing, which is where I'm at the minute so I've only done the one main decal on the side. I wanted something black so it popped a bit more than the white/orange/grey so I made one up. I took a Warsteiner decal from a truck set and cut off the "steiner" part and added a crazy dancing frog logo from a Ma.k1/20 Krote and I'm actually really happy with how it came out! IMG_20221113_121727223 by Nick Frost, on Flickr So next up I'll just carry on getting the rest of the decals on the front fairing ready for a few clear coats and a polish. Thanks for looking, more soon

voozet
Great progress. These decals do a good job (good set, envy it). Mr Frog and top hat rulezzz! Although I liked the previous exhaust system better, with a shorter lower one. I think... 😉

Plus I want it to have a more hi tech look, although in the same set there is a cool tiger one that I may put in the back of the androids jacket. 19 hours ago, Bobby No Mac said: This is all quite, quite mad. Hunter Rose
I've got the decals sorted finally, first off though here are the pretty terrible girl decals from the italieri truck set I mentioned! IMG_20221116_184350121 by Nick Frost, on Flickr They're very american 80s cheese! I do like the tiger one though, it might be a bit big but if it fits I'll use it on the back of the android girls jacket. So I've just been carrying on adding decals to the main fairing from my stash IMG_20221116_185555145 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221117_185416354 by Nick Frost, on Flickr I added a white 8 to the front bit it really doesn't stand out that great, its looks way better in the photo than real life, so I have the same number in dark red so added that but off centre a bit to give a slight white shadow IMG_20221117_185427852 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221118_185140724 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Then I added a couple of smaller ones either side IMG_20221118_192338950 by Nick Frost, on Flickr And then added the last few to the sides IMG_20221117_190702799 by Nick Frost, on Flickr I added chequer detail to the underside too as it will be leaning so wanted to add a detail there too. IMG_20221118_190206945 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Found these cool tiger heads that look pretty cool on there too IMG_20221118_192324653 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221118_192332016 by Nick Frost, on Flickr IMG_20221118_192350741 by Nick Frost, on Flickr Next up I can start with the clear coats, I dont want to risk damaging any of the paint or decal when I use the tamiya polishing compounds so I'll probably give it 3 coats just to be sure. I want to get this as glossy as possible, and once its finished I can concentrate on all the other little bits that need doing. Corsairfoxfouruncle
Looks great will you be adding a forward anti gravity unit or is this the way it will be ? I like this as it is I’m more curious than anything.

Cheers Pete! 15 hours ago, Corsairfoxfouruncle said: Looks great will you be adding a forward anti gravity unit or is this the way it will be ? I like this as it is I’m more curious than anything. Well what I want (and I'm still searching for a bit I like) is a kind of rounded long bit to sit in the middle of the gap in the front fairing to cover it and also look like it's the centre of the air scoop for the jets. And there will be a couple of fins at the back but I'm working on the basis all anti grav stuff is concealed, I really want this to have clean lines with minimal bits sticking out for a sleek look to contrast what will be a very grungy punk android rider. I'm kind of doing this a bit weird i guess because I'm finishing the fairing first, but this is because the other "jet bike" details will be done as sub assemblies I can attach after I've got the fairing on the frame. And I need the fairing on first so I can be sure of angles I'm cutting and the space I've got to work with for the extras.

Hockeyboy76
Loving your work dude, but I feel I must take issue with just one small thing, The cutting up of Warsteiner decals…. Absolutely shocking and a terrible crime to Wobbly. Im following this build very closely now and in no way making any notes or copying your homework.
