CPAir was originally Canadian Pacific Airlines, and became Canadian Airlines (and adopted a much less attractive colour scheme) following a merger some time in the 80s. I have fond memories of seeing CPAir aircraft (mostly DC-10s and 747s) at Manchester in the early 80s.
stevehnz
That looks amazing, a real look at me sort of livery, that'll sure stand out on the shelf, you've made it look brilliant. Steve.
Skodadriver
Beautiful model Julian. Thanks for sharing. It's a very striking livery. I only remember seeing it once (on a DC-10 at Schipol) and I thought at the time it would look good on a model. You have definitely proved that! Your WIP (which I missed) is interesting and informative. Thanks for the link Dave G

Paul J
Your build is beautiful!!!! I well remember seeing these at Gatwick in the early 1970s. I have a DC-3 in the same scheme and scale.

There was a CP Rail too, which evolved into Canadian Pacific who are still in operation.

Viking
the -53 is definitely one of the best looking DC-8.s and it really suits this livery too. Lovely Job Julian, I've got a set of these engines and a kit stashed away, seeing this makes me want to start building it! Cheers John
mitchem
Classic scheme - Excellent stuff ! 👍👍 I remember passing through Lisbon once and seeing one of their 747s in the same scheme. Kind of blew my mind as to how striking the scheme was then. mike
