1/48 (or perhaps 28mm) PK/PKM family of Machine Guns

Does anyone know of a source in 1/48 scale or even at a pinch 28mm wargaming scale for the Cold War PK/PKM family of machine guns?

I am planning a 1/48 Mi-24 Hind project and have seen images of these being fitted  to fire out of the rear cabin windows but cannot find anything obvious online and am hoping that like in many different areas of scale modelling in general there might be a manufacturer or supplier out there with a less obvious presence that someone in the AFV field might be aware of.

Try the Rubicon Models Vietnam War Vietcong figure set in 28mm

Many thanks for that and although it does not seem to have the exact weapon I am looking for it has provided the solution.

While Googling for Rubicon it opened up a whole world of 28mm modelling I was completely unaware of and I came across www.anvilindustry.co.uk where their blog described using parts from their cast resin Dragunov , Bren , AK-47 and Box Magazine accessory sets to make to my eyes at least a reasonable PKM lookalike ( https://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/zona-alfa-spetsnaz-conversion-wargaming ).

Ordered the appropriate sets which cost a couple of pounds each and will see how it goes although some of them do seem to take the description of small arms a bit literally with the hand/arm of the figure they are intended for needing to be sanded off.

It's a large and growing market.  There's a whole gaming store near me in Poole full of stuff like this that I never knew existed.  Entoyment.  Rubicon are about the largest maker of injection plastic vehicles, although they use an ABS plastic.  WW2 until recently but now going into Vietnam and presumably later other genres.  Nice little kits, if a little simplified for gaming durability and easy build.

Marc Le Bayon (MLB Maquettes) specialises in 1/48 modern stuff, including small arms.

What an amazing shop , many thanks.     28mm stuff had already been ordered when you posted so I will wait and see how I get on with that first but I can think of quite a few 1/48 projects I am considering where various scale weapons will come in very useful.

Shapeways is also a good source for 1/48 3d printed items - I've ourchased a variety of modern weapons (AK47s, SLR, M4 carbines, GPMGs etc) from various makers on the platform (you buy from the individual creator but Shapeways do the printing and shipping). You just need to persist with the search function as it's appalling. Better to go to Google and do a search that includes Shapeways as part of the search string - that usually gives better results.

Went down the Shapeways route a few years ago for set of 1/48 wheels that were needed for a specific project and found that although they cost a little more than I would have expected from Eduard etc. (had they made the item I was looking for) which is all part and parcel of dealing with any seller by the time that very high shipping costs for a very , very small package and various charges that were (at that time anyway) conditions of dealing with Shapeways were added that it ended up being a very expensive business with the added charges costing much more than the original item.
