Fnick
Bet you you won't get him out easily either when he's at the vets! Nick Edited February 9, 2023 by Fnick
fatfingers
Well, we had to take his nibs to the vet this morning as last night we noticed the base of his tail was swollen and he wasn't his usual self. Soon after he had a fair bit of puss come out of it. Managed to have a look at it and there's a nasty wound. Got him in his carrier ok and he only tried to bite me once whilst the vet gave him the once over! Poor lad has quite a hole and vet thought it was a bite that had become infected. Came away with two lots of anti biotics, some hibiscrub to clean the wound and another appointment for Tuesday night! Ahh the joys of being adopted by a cat 😆 Regards, Steve Edited February 11, 2023 by fatfingers 1
AliGauld
Our vet has always told us that wounds to the front are OK but it's the rear ones that are worse and dangerous as they've been turning to run. Hope the wee fella is OK. 2

Mr T
Ah, the joys of cat ownership. I hope the little chap is perking up. Wilf fights a much larger cat, presumably over territory and has had the odd trip to the vet. He doesn't seem to mind as it was where we got him from and they all make a fuss of him. He is an odd cat, like all cats he is a sociopath, but is emotionally very needy, and yes, cats have enough grey matter to show what can be described as an emotional response to situations.
fatfingers
Thanks @Mr T & @AliGauld He's deffo perking up with the anti biotics and is about back to his normal self. The wound also looks to be drying up nicely and seems to be healing well so far 🤞 Will see what cat quack has to say when he goes back on Tuesday. fatfingers
Had his nibs back at the cat quack tonight for them to check his wound. Knitting together nicely and healing well. To keep on with the anti biotics until they're finished and got another appointment for next week but vet said we can cancel if it all looks good 👍 Regards, Steve Edited February 14, 2023 by fatfingers

Pete Robin
Ours does that! Fresh water available all over the house, he drinks from the filthiest, green scummed puddles he can find. Go figure? Regards Pete

fatfingers
Patch back from the vets today all chipped and snipped! He's now officially mine and a eunuch! 🫣 He also keeps doing a really good impression of Michael Jacksons moon walk trying to get the bucket off 😆 Regards, Steve

Wilf has been to the vets today He has been a bit subdued and has had difficulty in getting on to his chair etc. The vet is not sure what the trouble is, might be a dislocated hip. She also reckoned he is about 4-5 years older than we were told when we got him (he was rescued from a garden, but had obviously been an owned cat).
fatfingers
@Mr T Sorry to hear of Wilf's troubles and i really hope he makes a good recovery. The vets reckons Patch is between 3 and 5 so they've put him down as aged 4 for his microchip. The nurse this morning said he was a 'big brute' He was very chilled out when i took him in this morning, despite him weeing in his carry case! 🙄 Regards, Steve
Mr T
Thanks Steve, he seemed a bit brighter last night. We are away fo a few days and Joe is on charge. The vets wants him keeping inside to rest the hip and this works out well for Joe. In other news Alison has handed her notice in and retires at the end of May. Mr T
Thanks Steve, she has decided that although she was going to hang on a bit longer, her pension is fully paid up, and so there is not much point waiting around. The job is becoming seriously stressful and she wants to quit while she is ahead, and makes a mistake.
