ivan-o
Hi guy's This is my new adventure, Tamiya chieftain with the Dragon Badger conversion. Printing on the conversion is ok BUT most of it is overscale, luckily enough the main bits like the rear hamper and front fasciae platform look ok! This is going to be an adventure for sure and it will not be quick🙄 Ivan
ivan-o
So starting with the superstructure, DB effort, more like it should be, top on and razor saw at the ready, cuts done and cupola on.this is going to be the norm for this kit I will just be using the kit parts as the base and trying to improve them as I go along. Model Mate
crickey! looks like there may be some parts buried in those sheets of resin - or is it a vacform?! .....you're going to get through some sandpaper methinks. Good luck; you seem to have made a great start.
Hamden
Not seen this conversion before, it's nice to see a version other than a gun tank being built. Beer and pop corn ordered I'll take a seat by the window if you don't mind and watch you work your magic! Stay safe Roger
ivan-o
Thanks Roger you will need plenty of beer cause this not going to be quick😳 TBH unless you have plenty of plastic sheet handy this is not looking a kit for the faint hearted 😄 Ivan

Mig Eater
16 hours ago, Model Mate said: crickey! looks like there may be some parts buried in those sheets of resin - or is it a vacform?! The parts are 3D printed with a plastic FDM printer, the flash/sheets around the parts are "brims" which are used to secure the parts to the printing bed during the 3D printing processes. Brims are mainly used to stabilize large prints though, they're not really useful for lots of small parts & will just add lots of unnecessary cleaning up 😕
ivan-o
Hi The obligatory track bash 🙄 master club tracks used. The front gala is plate has all sorts of ankle breakers on it! Whoever thinks of these have never stumbled around in the dark on any military vehicle🙄 a bit of anti slip on to tidy it up. back to the beer now😄 cheers Ivan

ivan-o
Hi a small update (again😄) The gun rail has been removed, they were not high enough for an AVRE Rails on and more work done on the bins and fire extinguisher on the front.(not fixed yet) I did get some replacement Chieftain bins from DB but TBH they are an embarrassment to even post on here🙄 That’s it for now😄 cheers Ivan

Stay safe Roger Thanks Roger it certainly is ‘interesting’, got to have a go at my own Chiefy bins to go in front of the long ones next, the spares and plastic card is certainly taking a bashing😂.Hopefully it won’t look as scruffy when I eventually get a layer of primer on it.
