StephMarb
Hi everyone! I finally managed to wrap up this Panzer IV F2 from Border Models - all in all a great kit built straight from the box with a few extra scratch built add-ons. Please let me know what you think, any critiques are very welcome. 47

Pete Robin
Super work. It's a difficult thing making a single colour scheme interesting. But you've achieved that and then some. Regards Pete
Stef N.
That's a cracking model. Brilliant paint and weathering with some lovely little additions. Like the chipping and the exhaust is superb. Very well done.👏

IanC
Terrific job! If it was mine I'd perhaps add some dry pigments to the nooks and crannies, and over the sandbags, to give a bit more of a dusty feel. Great model as it is, though. 👏 Nicely done figure too - does he come with the kit?
StephMarb
@IanC thanks, some of the surfaces do look a bit clean - I'll keep that in mind for the next kit. The figure's not in the kit, I think I got it from some hobbyboss pack of figures. He was a bit wide so he had to get some minor surgery to fit into the turret, but it worked out in the end. Redcoat2966
Thats a nice job on a Panzer IV. Border seems to be doing some nice versions of this AFV.......
StephMarb
@Redcoat2966 thank you! I was really impressed with the detail on the molded parts, I think they've done a great job with it. I haven't tried any of their other kits, but I've heard good things
edjbartos
That's a very nicely finished model and the figure compliments it really well...👍 Ed

LeeM
An all round good job. Looks the part.
Zgubiony Turysta
A very nice job on the tank. I don't like the randomly placed tarpaulins, especially on the mantlet where wind blows could lift it and cover the view field of the commander. One would rather fasten the stowage items to the body of the vehicle, having in mind the strong winds encountered in the desert.
jean
Great show! As it would appear I am the only armour novice, is the scale 1/35, or am I wrong? I really like your work on this kit. JR
StephMarb
@Zgubiony Turysta Thanks, and that's a good point and something I didn't think about - I got most of my ideas for the stowage from this image where there's some sort of tarp/blanket up on the mantlet, but there's probably something heavy on top of it too come to think of it. I'll keep it in mind for the next build
StephMarb
@jean Thanks for the kind words! Yes the kit is 1/35 scale
Rob Maynard
Hi Steph, that looks really good! Love the additional details, always add more to a model and the reference photo above certainly shows how "busy" they often were.
Nenad Ilijic
Fantastic work Steph. I'm planning to build this kit sometime soon and collecting some reference material for it. Do you have any additional reference photos? Cheers, Nenad

Buzby061
Looks good, nicely work on the weathering & the commander. How did you make the tarps? Pete
StephMarb
@Buzby061 Thanks! The tarps were made with green stuff epoxy putty mixed with corn starch and rolled into very thin sheets - the youtuber Night Shift does this a decent amount and he'll be able to explain it much better than I could
