I'll be going tomorrow. Any ideas of where to park?

There is the centre park parking close to the venue or the multi storey car park on Northfield.

hope this works..if not  go to Google maps and put in Telford IPMS show and you can "walk" the map to see where it is.

Most require card payments but do take loose cash just in case.

Enjoy the days gentlemen and as I cannot go this year, if you take videos or  photographs,  please may I ask,  if you could kindly post them on the forums.

Thank you Muchly.

HOUSTON.

:thumbsup:

Any photos for us who don't have the opportunity to visit the exhibition for various reasons? I would really appreciate it lads.

Cheers,

Bill

Please do feel free to tell us all about the amazing models / fantastic bargains / bacon butties to be found at Telford this year.

Just to  keep us in the loop . But if you just want a good gloat then that's ok too  :)

Looking forward to tomorrow too - also my first time but I have no excuse as I only live 30 mins away! Got to see my daughter parade at a Remembrance Sunday event first but hoping to get over by 12 or so with my son. Hopefully the queues won’t be too bad by then and there’ll be a few bargains left :)

Didn't see it close up because it was in the competition area but the Dambuster Lanc dropping its Upkeep mine looked superb. If that's not a winner, I'm a Dutchman. Of whom, by the way, I think there were several around the halls today.

Is this thing on? Wow! My hosts actually have wifi now!

*waves*

Met a bunch of odd blokes this afternoon, many who claimed to be Britmodellers. The rest of the time I was behind the Battle of Britain SIG tables, chatting endlessly to all and sundry. A great day, and looking forward to do it all again tomorrow.

Well, I went. First time and really enjoyed it. Sadly had to leave before judging finished so didn’t see the competition entries but from the rails they looked stupendous!

Disappointment? So few traders taking card/contactless payment - cash only. I would have spent more but only had a fixed amount in my pocket.

All in all, though, 👍👍👍👍

P.S. To all you BMers who saw me but were too shy (or overawed) to come up and say hello - what a shame! I’m really very user friendly!

There is (or at least was) a good reason for this.  Wifi reception in the halls has historically been so bad that traders often couldn't get a signal and, if they could, neither trader or customer knew for sure whether a tranasction had gone through.

Thanks, Seahawk. In a way, all I was saying was, had I been aware I would have taken more readies. No harm done except that the stash hasn’t been fed. The rest of the show was superb and I was in awe of the skills on display.

I was able to take this phot from the other side of the rail;

The Lanc was impressive and must have taken some thought and engineering to get right.

Heather, the BoB SIG display was good. I had a look at it first thing and was chatting with Neil Robinson, who got me involved with all this IPMS stuff back in 1977.

Super show and it was lovely to meet everyone! Sorry I didn’t get more pictures.

Yes indeed Adrian, nice to meet you, the enigmatic Ced, Bill, Heather and other BM'ers.

I did see Martian crusing the byways of the halls, I'm not sure but it looked as if he'd grown more tentacles !!

Great show, absolutely shattered by end of the afternoon. Enjoyed very good talk by Chris Pocock on the U-2. Yes some traders seemed to be having trouble with card readers, in fact I had to use cash to renew my IPMS membership. Back into the fray tomorrow!

I try and take some, mostly I end up with highly blurred subjects, or excellently clear photos of my shoes, but among the various ones I took that are fit for human consumption were these;

A recreation of the famous scene in Jaws where the shark catches Quint

SAM_1578

I like wit and humour in models, too; especially if you read the caprtion on the photo of the bridge (and I believe there was an ad capaign which said "Irn Bru builds bridges)

SAM_1569

Then there is the famous Yorkshire bobsleigh team;

SAM_1544

and finally a really wacky plane. it certainly "matches" any other strange build you'll see at Telford!!

SAM_1549

Apologioes fr the poor quality of the photos, but at least none are of my shoes!!

Ced was there?!?

Aye, Ced was there. His mojo has been depleted by some new hush hush job he's got, his ever expanding family of grandhildren, but he did say that he;d do his best to get back to his fortress builds.
