Roman Schilhart
Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 IBG Fw-190D, in markings of II./JG 2. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel The model was built from the "Over Czech Lands" boxing, representing an aircraft of the 211 XXX Werknummer range, identified by the late three-piece gun cowl with small round bulges in the lower rear position. The IBG model may be the best detailled and most accurate replica of the Dora, but it's also a prime example of an over-engineered kit. Assembly is complex, alignment difficult, and there's pitfalls around every corner. Only recommended for seasoned modellers. Decals are from Eagle Cals (#108). The "8" looked much darker on the decal sheet than it appears on the model! Thank you for your interest! Best greetings from Lower Austria. 47

baldwin8
@Roman Schilhart you've done this beautifully. My question in regards to the first photo. Is this just the model on an extremely white background with bright LED lights? I love the grayscale card in the background, interesting.

I have nearly finish mine, I feel this kit was a difficult too complicate one for a fighter in 1/72. Yours is very well done. You are courageous. The model was photographed on white paper, curved at the back to avoid shadow lines, using three flash light devices (left, right, above). The greyscale helps to determine the correct settings for colors.

Sky Keg
This Dora looks not only authentic but gives the sinister appearance that 190`s are known for. The quality is superb. Very nice Roman!!! Mike

François Escudé
Hi Roman very nice 190 D indeed, got it but was a little bit disappointed by rivets representation, on your model, seems to me that they are a little bit " attenuated"? did you do sorting special for that ? Best regards ! something

Thank you for your interest, Francois. The rivets are slightly reduced by primer and paint. Against my usual habit, I refrained from "washing" the recesses in order not to over-accentuate the surface structure.
