Blimpyboy
I'm resuming construction of my Zvezda Pe-8 and am looking for some colour/markings inspiration. I haven't been able to find much - then I found this shot: Does the collective have any ideas about the marking (a shield of some type?) under the windscreen, as well as the colours on the spinners? Also - and the usual request here - does anyone have any thoughts about the likely camouflage scheme and colours on this 'plane? I presume it's very late, or just after the, European war - any information would be most welcome. Thanks in advance! Fukuryu
Looks like a standard Guards shield to me: 5
expositor
Check "massimotessitori/altervista.org.". Massimo, who posts here, has a great site for soviet warplanes, which includes info on the Pe-8. Scroll down to the " pages" for the aircraft list. 1
JWM
Please note that this is Pe 8 with radial engines, not that variant which is in Zvezda kit but in A-model kit. Regards J-W
Blimpyboy
Luckily, Zvezda put out the radial-engined version (using the original designation of TB-7), which includes the revised nose (which looks a lot nicer, in my opinion). To me, it looks quite B-17 like, from some angles! Edited October 3, 2022 by Blimpyboy 1

Massimo Tessitori
Hi, it is likely that this plane had a 3 shades camouflage of green, dark grey and light brown. About the spinner, I guess red, black, white.
wombat
What would be the interior colour?
Learstang
Probably a neutral grey. The Soviets commonly painted the interior of their aircraft during the Great Patriotic War in A-14 Steel Grey, which is very similar to the American Neutral Gray. Josh G
I wish someone would bring out a 1/48 Pe-8 kit. Those engine nacelle gunner positions, so cool. You'd need plenty of room for it. A decent 1/48 Il-10 would be good too.
Learstang
Or 1/32nd scale! Put it up against the new 1/32nd scale Lancaster kits and see just how big the Pe-8 really was. Regards, Jason
