Parrahs
Along with the torpedo boat G37, which was included in the boxing I got. I guess G38 would have been too morbid? Excellent kit as always with Flyhawk, though a minor amount of flash. Maybe the moulds starting to show some age? Some day I'll get Flyhawk's HMS Invincible to keep her company. 27
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday @Parrahs, She's a beautiful model. I think this class of battlecruiser was the best looking of all warships of WW1. And they were very tough, too. Superb job. Regards, Jeff.

Bertie McBoatface
That is a very tidy build and a lovely paintjob too. I didn't understand why G38 would be morbid What's the story there?

According to Wikipedia: Lützow was heavily engaged during the Battle of Jutland. During the battle, she sank the British battlecruiser HMS Invincible and is sometimes given credit for sinking the armoured cruiser HMS Defence. However, she was heavily damaged by an estimated 24 heavy-calibre shell hits. With her bow thoroughly flooded, the ship was unable to make the return voyage to Germany; her crew was evacuated and she was sunk by torpedoes fired by one of her escorts, the torpedo boat G38. Might be appropriate?

Rich75
That's a cracking job! I don't think anyone would mind some more pictures, especially of the rigging 🤞🏻

It was just about the only reason I could think of to put the less important to the overall story torpedo boat in the kit. 22 hours ago, BerndM said: Excellent work. Maybe some thoughts about the build ? I have just started the Flyhawk/Snowman SMS Derfflinger. Let's see here. The railing on top of the secondary armament gallery was a proper sweetheart of compounding errors, though that was just due to the anything but straight shape of the deck edge there. The boats were a bit of a bother to fit into their cradles, I ended up chopping away a good bit of the middle cradles to make them sit better in the outer ones. Finally there's the top searchlight platform just in front of the forward funnel. Space for the searchlights underneath the small bit of ceiling that goes above them is minimal, so make sure you trim any attachment nubs off of the ends of the feet for the small searchlight scaffold/tower properly and then if possible attach the tower legs around the small raised part on the deck underneath it. You may also want to bend the searchlight platform railings into shape before you glue the searchlight platforms in place. Otherwise it was pretty smooth sailing.
