The Orion for me closely followed by numerous other Fords...

(Edit: oops,i forgot about the the Dyane and the 2CV,classic Fords always have that effect on me)

No idea why, but for some reason that Wolesley is calling out to me. Possibly due to it looking as though it's original, but this isn't normally an era which appeals to me. I do like that XR3i though, but the less said about that Orion the better.

What a terrible thing to do to a lovely car... Looks like the suspension needs a service...

best,

M.

It did sit very low. The exhaust was almost on the road.  That said, it was three-up and not hanging about given the density of the traffic.

A few random sightings today:

72 plate Aston Martin at the neighbour's house, don't ask me what it is, it doesn't do a lot for me

K-reg Midget in BRG

XK140 coupe near Northampton

A D-reg Corvette near Rugby, black with a white stripe... thought '66  from the reg but it had a '67 big block hood

A 1931 Morgan three wheeler, WSL707 (looked that one up)

Weird kit car on a Q plate, which was something like a mini Silk Cut Jag XJR9 🤨  More of an oversized pedal car than a replica.

Austin Ruby, year unknown

It turned up at the carnival, apparently an Ultima.  Photo borrowed from Facebook.

Jaaag spotting today.  Saw a very clean J-reg E-type twice today, and heard it again being wound up on a nearby road... The second time I saw it, it was accompanied by a white XK150 drophead.

As it was in the vicinity of Building the Legend I guessed it might be something to do with them.  Did some digging and here it is - 6.1 litre quad cam V12:

Vid is a bit poncey... would rather just see and hear it running, but there you go.

Two VWs today in one of those odd coincidence spots. First up was a very tidy G-plate Mk2 Golf GTI, which caught my eye because it was in an unusual dark green hue. Five miles later, a ratted Beetle with no front plate, in the exact same colour.

Also a yellow E-type coupe, just like the Corgi toy I had.

Hi all

Went to Headcorn Aerodrome near Maidstone on Sunday for some lovely cars and Aircraft, Spitfire was the real highlight as they are so close when they taxi by and the noise of it taking off , awesome,  there was a Tiggie also a pair of Harvards, Stearman and Stampe.

Not as many cars due to Father's day and the weather earlier but was a great morning out.

Not seen a Wizard Roadster for years

Lovely Mk.1, engine was converted to run 4 bike carbs, awesome.

My next car, although not a fan of the BMW esque wheels

Lovely 500

Stunning Corsair

Back to 89 bug, brought back memories of the scene in those days and made me feel young again.

On the A1 this morning, Northbound near Darlington. An early model Honda Insight. Not seen one for years. Still ugly though.

Later, and Southbound near Leeds, on a trailer, a blue D reg Sierra Estate in very good condition.

Wow!!! That's a real bad one.  If I see it right it's the hatchback version.

Fantastic beast, I love it, even so grey is not my colour.

Sorry...it was called  "touring "

When I was a teen,  there was a guy who had one of these prepared by Alpina.

At that time it was my favourite around...🤫🤫

Finally got a decent look at the thing I keep passing on the way into work over the weekend - it looks to me most like  a G-Wagen but with some Defender thrown in the mix. Turns out (as I suspected) that it is the first Ineos Grenadier I've seen. I actually quite like it - it looks like a proper off-road 4x4 and not pretentious like many are.

Also a couple of the new model Alpines too, one in Alpine metallic blue and the other in a darker slightly greeny blue.

Oh look, a Fordson Model N!

There seems to be something in front of it though.

There's nothing sadder than a tractor enthusiast but I can't help it...

I will try and remember next time to take some pics of the tractors, my son used to be mad on tractors however, girls have taken over nowadays.   There is one ratty original looking tractor that sometimes goes and that looks really cool.

I used to spend many happy hours as a kid watching tractors like that Fordson working the fields around our house before they all got covered in housing estates. Lost all interest then until lockdown when I found Ollyblogs' Youtube channel. Couldn't believe how big the things have got, and have now become a tractor spotter (even though I hardly know one from another!! 🤣) And don't even mention how big combine harvesters are now!!

Think so, but it was an awful long time ago! :) I was trying to remember what combines used to look like and then Ollyblogs showed one at a show he was visiting - they were tiny with no cab just a central seat and steering wheel...!!

A real classic spot in South Lincoln at around 7:00 this morning.

A silver Jaguar XK150 FHC sitting at the traffic lights looking rather gorgeous.

Quite what it was doing out at that time of day I have no idea. But what a cool commuter car!

Vividly.  When I was about 12 I worked on one during the holidays on my grandparents fen in a village just outside Bourne, filling the grain sacks, unhooking and changing them when full.  The noise and dust was incredible but I loved it.  The concrete of the farm yard actually trembled with the vibration from the thing.  It was driven by a huge canvas belt from the PTO on an old Fordson Major tractor.  Elfin Safety would have a fit if that were allowed these days but it was over 60 years ago and no-one bothered then.

It was called getting on with it. You did it or you didn't get to eat!
