Spot of the Day Part 6

In super-low dashcam quality, a 94-year old Morris coming the other way on my return from work (yes I did need to look it up).

I'm not aware of any local car shows tonight so it's great to see it apparently being taken out for a drive for the sake of it.

Having watched the video for the UK's entry it would seem a tidy looking Ford Escort Cabriolet is smashed up . Maybe not everyone's taste ( the car or the song ! ) but a shame anyway !

It's a Scimitar saloon

Thanks for that. I could have sworn I saw at least one back in the day badged as a Sabre or something similar.

I know the original Sabre was an early '60's car.

You're pretty close @Pete in Lincs, the Sabre ran from 1961-63, effectively a precursor to the Scimitar and there was a definite family resemblance.  Reliant briefly revived the Sabre name in the mid '90s with the oddly named Scimitar Sabre, just to muddy the waters a bit.  🤓

Some spots, whilst being out and about for work.

This was parked outside a Co‐op, judging by all the equipment in the boot its being used by a painter and decorator as their work vehicle.

Another one that looked very much like a daily driver

I assume a PR vehicle

It been a while since I've seen TVR wedge on the road

Also whilst in a cherry picker inspecting some storage Silos I spotted these over the fence

Looks ripe for a rolling resto into a Sweeney Consul GT replica! (hope I'm not showing my age here & no-one knows what I'm on about!!)

Keith

edit - at least @Vince1159 will know what I meant!!

Were the RS2 Mk2's or the replacement Capri S's your faves?! (or Cowley's Granada?!)

Keith

I like the Granny, but that Merc Estate is the business. Drive it from Norfolk down to London & it would probably be worth another two grand!

Someone, somewhere, is restoring old Mercs, so they're obviously worth doing. Much better quality than what they're producing nowadays. (IMHO)

Yep the W123  estate was a fine looking one,  one of the nicest estates german design did...even so there are a lot of other,  not german,  estates which were real fine...

Amid the Italian exotica at todays' Prescott Italia, something truly Italian and exotic: a Willam Lawil City, with 125cc's of awesome Lambretta power.

Another from Prescott: a very convincing Toyota-based 288 GTO replica. "MR.288 GTO" might be a better description but this one did look good.

Toyota (3)

You'd never guess that was an MR2 . Even the seats are / look correct .
