When I was a kid someone in the village had  a Granada Coupe . I do like more mundane everyday cars you no longer see though. Where was this gathering 🤔

Gary .

it was a charity run for classic cars with more modern interesting cars (although given mine was allowed to enter that should give you an indication that the definition of interesting is quite broad, the emphasis being on raising money for the neonatal unit at MK hospital). Here's another selection (the Jeep wasn't officially part of the run, but did follow the same course) of runners. And in case you're wondering, I only blanked the plate out on mine as it;s the only car where a random internet viewer could match car with owner. Anyway, the run, known as the MK Classic, went from just north of Dunstable, then a couple of laps of the Millbrook Alpine Course, up to Sywell and back to Silverstone. Usually in the past it has ended up at The Wing, but this year Japfest was at Silverstonbe so we finished at the golf club instead.

Yes, a lot, especially the Datsun coupe(240Z?) & the Vauxhall Magnum coupe, I always like the look of them, some very tasty motors there all in all.

Steve.

Technically both of the Vauxhalls are Firenzas as they pre-date the introduction of the Droopsnoot which was when the Magnum name appeared in the UK (or so I'm led to believe). But I agree there were some very nice cars there.

Quite a day out @Spiny. Being able to drive at Millbrook is something  ! And all for a great cause .   My brother had an orange Focus ST . That 5 cylinder engine always sounded awesome 👌

Hmmm, Firenzas or RS2..... Decisions, decisions. Nope, can't decide, I'll have all three please (& chuck in the 240Z & Imp too!) :)

If ever my euromillions numbers came up (fat chance!!) I'd have a (big) garage full of cars like that!

Nice pics Spiny, looks like an enjoyable day out :)

After the end of Corona restrictions we had the first oldtimer meeting in Munich. The day started cloudy and rainy, but we got also some sunshine in the end. There were a lot of cars and a lot of people. I've taken more than 300 photos, most of them useable. So I have updated the galleries at the Revell forum with a bunch of pictures and this is a very small selection. If you are looking for Brits you find them here.

Hi all

Visited a wet Dungeness for a Retros meet, not a lot turned up due to the weather but thought these may be of interest

Lovely understated RS2000

Cool Avenger, sounded good driving off too

Could quite happily have this in my garage, a lovely 944

Crikey a Nova saloon, not seen one of these for years, looked cool

Great colour and cool wheels

As it was raining took the opportunity to take the now raised Polo rather than get my Fastback wet, drives really nicely now

Always great to see an unmolested hot Ford, I'd definitely have that one. Not sure on the Nova, think I would have preferred to see that one unmolested too, but each to their own.

The 'rabbit' on the radiator of that Alvis will be a hare.  Alvis fitted these to quite a few of their pre war models.

Always liked the original Mamba wheels (not to be confused with the crude modern repro ones).  If I ever had a Mini, I'd want it with a set of these!  (Already have a set of the pukka 13" ones on a '61 AH Sprite Mk2).

I'd say move quickly, transaxle Porsche sportscars started to appreciate lately, so get a good one while you can. Saw a 968 Sport for sale (GBP22k) in beautiful blue lately. Former Porsche GB car.

Ooooo yeah, would love too, but will need to win a lottery prize to get anything like that at the moment 🙄

I'll let you have them Keith if I can take the Porsche 😉 although quite partial to the RS too.

Thanks fella it's been a bot of a mare getting the new Suspension set up right, but done now and had to set the front wheel alignment myself too but pleased as drives perfectly .  The wheels are Golf mk2 late driver wheels , they really suit it too, even got the centre caps for them but looks better without them.   Pleased it's all done now, paint can wait a bit

I was offered a 944S2 about a decade ago for a grand, as it had a damaged front bumper - which would have cost about another grand to repair. Owner had bought a 968 to replace it and couldn't be bothered with the hassle of getting it fixed. I decided I couldn't either..... how I now wish I hadn't been so lazy....!! 🤣
