A Tuk-Tuk on the A1000 just outside of Hatfield. I don't know why!

The Ruby Indian restaurant in Hertford has one they sometimes use (orange if I remember rightly, although I haven't seen it in a while). Would it have been that one?

Saw a scruffy looking Austin Cambridge yesterday whilst out with a young work colleague. I was mortified when she asked if the car was as old as me! 😖

It was on the reddish end of the spectrum so may have been?!

I don't remember ever seeing an Omega estate even back when they were a thing.

That '70 Triumph 2000 (or is it a 2500?) needs saving! One of the best riding cars I ever drove.

Saw a very nice Rover P5 in BRG with a white roof on way into Loughborough this morning, but got properly excited a few days back when I saw an Aston Martin DB5 in silver on the A60 near Bunny.

Bringing this back to sanity, I was filling my Isuzu (will be a classic if I hang onto it for much longer) with diesel the other day when this pulled onto the pump beside me, I've not seen it about but thought it was rather lovely.

Apologies, should have said the rego listed it as a 1964 Riley 4/72.

Lovely, that took me back...

When I was a little kid in the mid-70s the old guy across the road had a Wolseley 16/60, which is essentially the same as the Riley 4/72 if I've got that right...

It wasn't shiny like the Riley though, it was a dull and faded 2-tone blue over grey. A nice, if very conservative, looking car.

Edit: I just Googled the 16/60 and it's possible the car I remember was a Wolseley 24/80 with the BMC 2.4 litre 6-cylinder"Blue Streak" engine.

Saw a C4 Corvette convertible on the weekend.

There was only one person on board the Corvette, in the right seat, so somebody went to the significant trouble and expense of doing a RHD conversion.

RHD Corvettes were made (IIRC) for the Japanese and Aussie markets.

There were no factory RHD Corvettes imported to Australia, as far as I know, until the C8 in 2022.

Apparently the 2023 Z06 will be sold as a factory RHD as well.

Chevrolets (and Pontiacs, Fords, Dodges, and a few others) were sold as factory-built RHD cars in Australia until the mid-1960s.

The GM cars were built RHD in Canada, presumably to get some sort of import tax concession within the British Commonwealth.

It was a worthwhile market I suppose, since they went to New Zealand and South Africa as well.

They only did full-sized sedans and 4-door hardtops though- no convertibles or 2-doors, and no low-volume models like the Corvette or Thunderbird.

Before C8, RHD Aussie 'Vettes are all Australian conversion job. Did a great job, though.

One of 8 Rauh-Welt Begriff-modded Porsche 911s in Indonesia. This is no. 2, based from 993, named Ciska after the owner's late mother.

Gorgeous Series 1 Range Rover. Thankfully it didn't broke.

Saw this Morris Minor 1000 today.

It's a daily driver, I frequently see it on the road.

As well the wheels it has every chrome accessory there is!

Yeah, pity about that!

Otherwise the body is absolutely mint- no rust, no damage, nothing missing.

I assume it's one of the last 1000s with the B-series engine, hopefully not a modern engine transplant, as it seems to keep up easily with traffic.

Personally, Ciska is a bit much for me. In my opinion this is the best of Indonesia's RWB-modded 911

IMG-0067.jpg

Called 'Aisuru Hito', dedicated to the owner's daughter (hence Aisuru Hito aka. 'Beloved Ones'). This has a bit of a story, since it started out as a classic 911. So classic, this was in fact the first ever Porsche 911 in Indonesia, back when it was still named 901 before Peugeot told Porsche to stop using x0x nomenclature. And the owner, the workshop team and Nakai Akira-san himself only found out about this mid-project. They were contemplating about not continuing the project, but after discussing it they decided to continue it anyway. I'm a 911 purist, but I love this RWB 911. Reminds me of the old RSRs and 911 SC/RSs. This also got straight-through exhaust so it really sounds like old-school 911 Carrera RSRs Way louder than all the other 7 RWB 911s.

I love Porsches - but I absolutely hate that one - is it itrying to win the most ridiculous rear wing in history competition!! What a way to ruin a classic 993.... :(

Good job we all have different tastes isn't it?! :)
