paul-muc Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 A selection of some of the cars that are shown in the Motorworld Munich. New cars for sale, veterans for show. I have posted these and more pictures in the Revell forum. 12

The Abarth sounded nice and I liked the look of it (we got a local graphics company to do chrome Abarth scorpions for it) but I have to say I adore her 500e. It's the top-spec one (the Margherita or something that sounds like a pizza) and plays music when you first set off. It also shows that EVs don't have to be lumpy great expensive carbuncles! Showing my age now, but it's a lot more comfortable too 😊 Ah yes, the Fiat 500e LaPrima by Bocelli. 1
Spiny Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Terrible quality shot due to being off the dashcam, in a multi-storey car park in the evening, but saw this very nice G-reg Toyota Celica this evening. I also saw a very rare sight over the weekend while up in Yorkshire - an absolutley gorgeous and rust-free black Y-reg Alfa GTV. Sadly I wasn't able to get a photo of that, but it was very nice all the same. 7

To be fair, I suspect the word 'restoration' may well have featured somewhere in its history. But as I wasn't in my car at the time there was no dashcam footage of it, If anyone is in the Malton area it could be worth keeping an eye out for. 2

stevehnz Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 I've had a Daimler sort of week, a couple of days ago, a 1969 Sovereign 4.2 (Jag 420 shape) in what the rego calls grey but more of a pale metallic bronze & then today a 1964 2.5 (Jag Mk 2 shape)in deep red shade. Neither had I seen before, that I recall anyway but nice to see them out & about. Steve. 5
Rob G Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 At the local pizzeria this evening, a new Corvette. Hideous. @Pete in Lincs you disagree? You're allowed to, but you're wrong. 1
stevehnz Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Some interesting jobs seen about the last few days. First up a 1964 Ford Falcon (Aussie), on original plates, the bright blue paint work & white spoked alloys did it no favours but a type I haven't seen around for ages. The next day produced a 1930 Cadillac Fleetwood V16, what a mammoth machine that is, Not my photo but the same machine. Later that day was this wee sweety, it took me back to the one my Mum had early in my driving days. Also original plates. Then this arvo as I saw my wife off on her new ebike, a 1950 Renault 760 drove past, definitely a rare one around here. Steve. 9

Tyas Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Yesterday I went to a sprint rally event on the outskirts of my hometown. It's part of national sprint rally championship, and boy there were some gems around. A 1980s Datsun Sunny Coupe flogged around like nobody's business An HB Mazda Cosmo driven through the ruined wet roads around Jalak Harupat Stadium after a torrential rain before SS2 An XJ Jeep Cherokee being driven by a mad man, thinking this was 1984 and he's in a Lancia-Abarth 037. That's how crazy the Jeep guys were. Nissan Micra Proto Group A rally car. Properly mad-looking thing. A Hyundai i20 R5 rally car Another R5 rally car, this time a Ford Fiesta R5. Sounds properly angry. More R5 rally car in the shape of a brand-new Skoda Fabia vRS R5. Sponsored by one of the biggest Padang restaurant franchise in Indonesia (indeed, the driver was the current owner of Sederhana Padang restaurant chain), unfortunately this does not smell like rendang. Did win the event, though. This one's not an R5 rally car. This GR Yaris is built per AP4 regulation for Asia-Pacific Rally Championship. And does it not look angry. My favourite of the lot. A USDM Ford Bronco, still LHD. Used by the head mechanics of the team that runs the Fiesta R5 as his transport. Actually owned by the owner of the parallel import showroom that imported this Bronco, as well as all the other Broncos and dealing with right-hand drive conversions of those. The owner also had basically every modern Ferrari you can think of, several 911s including 2 991.2 GT2 RS Weissach Package and 991.2 GT3 RS, a Huracan STO, and many others. Ah, my favourite EVO, the EVO VI Tommi Makinen Edition. In Scotia White, though. 8
Black Knight Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Sorry, no photos. I was not totally fore-warned where #1 son was taking me yesterday. It was just 'I'm going to visit a friend, Wanna come?' Well the friend had a large collection of Eastern Europe built cars About 8 Skoda Estelle 2, all of which were special/limited edition versions similar to this one 2 or 3 Skoda Favorits, again special edition/limited versions At least 3 NSU RO80 Similar to this 3 Wartburg 353 estates similar to this 2 Volvo (ex-DAF) 66GL estates Similar to this and 1 very early Fiat 500 which has been in his family since new in C1971 9

Always liked the quirky look. Not so sure about the engine. Back in the day, a Ford V6 fitted nicely. Nowadays, a two litre Japanese engine might be better I think. 4

Can't remember what the new one looks like. But I hate it already. The new ones look to me as if the designer cribbed all the 'exciting' bits from the last 20 years of supercars, and threw them at a design sketch. Then said "yep, that'll do". I'm not a Corvette fan (GM, blergh), but the 50s and 70s styling are the best looking IMO.

stevehnz Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Bringing this back to sanity, I was filling my Isuzu (will be a classic if I hang onto it for much longer) with diesel the other day when this pulled onto the pump beside me, I've not seen it about but thought it was rather lovely. Apologies, should have said the rego listed it as a 1964 Riley 4/72. 4/72 The purple people eater above is a Lambo yes? That is truly tasteless, imho of course. Steve. 15
Admiral Puff Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Someone obviously loves her! She's about sixty years old now, and (dare I say it) looks better than when she came out of the factory! 3
