Tamiya 1:72 FAA corsair

Recommended Posts

After having finished my wildcat I immediately started on my next FAA project. I enjoyed making the Martlet and its camo so I decided my next project would be a birdcage corsair (Tamiya 1:72 specifically). I got printscale decals ready and it will most likely be Corsair F.Mk.1 JT150.

Should be quite a quick build, similarly to the Martlet which I finished in six days.

I've had a very busy week so not much work done since.

I have fixed the tail gear bay to be that "salmon pink" colour and started painting the underside.

I have also made the engine

I honestly remembered the corsair being bigger, it's barely larger than a martlet!

More progress soon, my week isn't busy now so plenty of workbench time.

I am however going on holiday to Spain from Oct. 8 to 17, so no modelling then.

Don't forget to clip the wing tips as I am fairly sure the FAA birds had clipped wings

Gondor

Early FAA corsairs (Such as F.Mk.1) didn't have clipped wings but thanks for the tip :)
