Zack
Friday. This has been a long week. Anyone out there who can give my friend 🥸 advise on what Tamiya color to use for the cockpit and body? Tamiya's own instruction has the cockpit down as XF-19 and body as TS-48. The Decal sheet suggests FS 36118 for the body (Lakenheath 2019) TGIF! Zack
Hook
TS-48 is indeed FS36118 Gunship Gray, which is the allover colour of the Beagle. Cockpit colour is FS36321 on the real thing, of which XF-54 is closer to than XF-19 if it must be Tamiya. Â Cheers, Â Andre

CT7567
TS-48 is a pretty close equivalent for FS36118 but a touch darker than the official color. Tamiya has since released AS-27 ("Gunship Gray 2" in Tamiya's nomenclature) which is a more exact match to the FS 595 standard.  Small correction, the cockpit color is officially FS36231 (informally known as "dark gull gray"). No disagreement on XF-54 being a much better match than XF-19.
SouthViper
One doubt, the cockpits of the F-15E Strike Eagles weren't Black or dark gray ? SouthViper from Brazil

Julien
One thing I did see was the fact the radome is a very slightly different colour from the airframe   Also they use a slightly lighter colour doing touch ups
Seawinder
Yes, because the radome is not painted.

Hook
Also, it has been known to happen that, since the parts are identical, E's were fitted with C/D radomes and vice versa. Â Cheers, Â Andre

Cheers,  Andre Have seen E models with various grey panels from C models at Lakenheath, rudders, flaps, airbrakes etc.  A friend even photographed one flying without the side fuel tanks for some reason. We thought it was a B/D at first.
