Vingtor
What would be the proper "name" for a Harvard manufactured in Canada? "North American T-6 Harvard" or "Noorduyn T-6 Harvard" ? Taking the B-17 for instance, it is always referred to as "Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress" regardless if airframes were manufactured by Boeing, Douglas or Vega. On the other hand, Canadian manufactured Sabres are referred to as "Canadair F.4 Sabre", while Starfighters are referred to as either "Canadair CF-104 Starfighter" or "Lockheed F-104G-CA Starfigher". Is there any general rule? Nils
theplasticsurgeon
I've never heard of Harvards being referred to as anything other than North American. I built two Canadian Car and Foundry Harvard IVs in 2017, Airfix and Heller - letting their Canadian origins be know.
Tony Edmundson
YCanadian Harvard’s were manufactured at Noorduyn and Canadian Car & Foundry, as well as North American. The majority being produced by N. A. I just call them Harvards(no prefix), but as the Canadian ones were licence-built, it would be correct to call them North American Harvard’s. cheers, Tony Edited October 5, 2022 by Tony Edmundson Because......
