Adding preview links to posts?

I'm probably being a numpty but can't see how to add a link to another post that shows a preview of the post like I've seen others doing. Had a look through the FAQ section and this section but can't see an answer. The only way I can do links is to click on the little 'link' icon and add the url that way, but it doesn't show a preview, just a hyperlinked text. 

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Copy the URL and just paste in the thread, the forum software does the rest. For the whole thread, the URL in the search bar, for an individual post, click on the 3 horizontal dots on the right of the post and then share. copy that URL.

Ah, just figured it out. It wasn't pasting the link, just a title. I had to use CTRL + SHIFT + V to paste the link for some reason. All sorted, cheers
